Project Ocean has today been revealed as a 'Topspin style' attraction in recent noise documents published on the Staffordshire Moorlands planning application regarding the old Ripsaw Cafe site. This is the first confirmation of the rumours with a 15 week construction timeframe in motion. A new flat ride is coming to Alton Towers in 2024! But will it be Huss? We know they have a ride deal with Towers but there's other Topspin 'style' models out there from other manufacturers that could easily sit atop the new walkthrough platform!

A few have asked but I think it would ruin the fun for those seeking them out too. Keep an eye on clothing, props (now and again), certain dialogue and even things written in the first lines of the description. Other not so subtle hints are spoken outright in our Energylandia vlog and even our trip to Efteling where we talk about Intamin dominating the UK landscape with multiple coaster additions across many UK parks (DM, Alton, Paultons etc)

😅 it’s more verbal stuff usually but a prop has crept in now and again. The guitar first originally featured during an Aerosmith Rock N Rollercoaster rebrand video (now Flight Force) which has since been deleted and it’s stayed ever since as it’s too bloody cramped in this office 😂

I like the idea of the Top Spin coming back Ripsaw always seemed popular but I don't remember how long the queues could get for it, Alton in much need of awesome flats my one concern is this new Top Spin faces 90 Degrees away from Nemesis Reborn will look strange having the arms pointing towards the ride instead. Hopefully many more flat rides to come and hopefully they build their collection back to where they did have 6 at one point i.e. Ripsaw, Blade, Ug Swinger, Submission, Enterprise, Boneshaker, Dynamo.

With the more frequency of rides returning in a new form how likely could a Toyland Tours revival be back in the old Alton Towers Dungeon spot with new updated scenes, and redone soundtrack. That was an equally beloved ride and we do know The Alton Towers Dungeon is closing for Scarefest but then could have 5 months to be completely rethemed and non upcharge.

At a guess, I think the topspin will be ready to launch in September and then we will see a similar situation to duel, whereas Galactica will close for a retheme for 2025 and the new flat is opening to take up the lost capacity.

They’re bringing back the rides that they shouldn’t have ever lost. Bringing back the glory days is what the park needs whilst moving forward to new and exciting attractions. I’m excited!

Some of the forums are nasty nasty places. But at least it means you can straight up write off any negativity as cr*p. Exciting times for Towers and Forbidden Valley! Weird that they're constructing it now in some ways but given the dire straits they're in with flats, hopefully it's good news. Fingers crossed for another two over winter

If I'm going to be honest, I actually think that is not a good idea. The reason being I get that its trying to refresh forbidden valley and going with the approach that its a new place that is being reborn but the park is trying to move forward and it just feels like its being unoriginal. Why couldn't we have a new flat ride themed on the phalanx? It just sounds so boring.

There is no other flat ride that brings as much nostalgia and excitement as Ripsaw, it only went after the smiler incident (same reason as to why Sub Terra was SBNO) so bringing those two park is just the start of recovering what was lost and then the rides thereafter build towards the future. They know what they're doing moving forward (makes a change me saying that about AT), it's going to be great.

If you reveal plans before they’re officially announced you’re liable. Even spoke to our lawyer about it just to double check! Don’t want any issues! If someone is guilty of sharing private information without consent, it is possible for a victim to sue them for the damages caused including direct financial losses 😊 it’s private info so POV reveals, concept art, blueprints, planning applications (not public) etc

How so? For me it's bringing back a VERY popular attraction with GP and enthusiasts and restoring FV back to its glory days with a modern twist

@@LiftHillsandThrills Alton towers are known for innovation in difficult circumstances. Lots of firsts if few records. I would love to see them maintain that reputation than bring back something that had its day nine years ago. And before you point it out, Nemesis Reborn was absolutely the right decision. This one feels lazy.

Look up Tourbillons ride and tell me you wouldn't want that at Alton Towers. It would also be the only one in the UK. Very on brand for Towers.

@@leesmaling8582 So if Nemmy was the right decision which is keeping alive something that was culturally relevant and popular…. Why not Ripsaw? Afterall it only went because it was at the end of the its shelf life and was on the chopping block with sub terra after the smiler incident. Tourbillion would be great but for x sector, it looks experimental (we discussed this on the channel in another video)

@@LiftHillsandThrills I don't think flat rides get the same level of love and respect that coasters do. Most parks treat them as almost disposable. Alton has had its fair share of flats that didn't last long. At least they didn't leave them SBNO like slammer at Thorpe. Flats come and go. But to bring them back? Especially when there's a better alternative. Makes no sense to me.
