Torana LC XU1 Surprise Return Home

4 and a half years ago, Frank had to sell his prized Torana which he rebuilt over 4 years with his son Andrew. On September 16th, we got to buy it back. He thought we purchased a brand new HSV GTS and was outside in the street ready to see it. Little did he know, it was his Torana driving down the street towards him! This video captures the whole day and all of the emotions

I had an LC xu1, same year but factory rally red, with sprintmasters. Bought it when I was 19, and lived. What a bloody great car it was. Went like a scalded cat on crack. I miss her dearly.

I'm no holden fan but I do have a soft spot for the XU1. That's a very good example of an aussie icon. Brining it back to the family must have been a very special event that will remain with all of you for a very, very long time, well done dude 👏👏👏😎👍

mate i am crying watching this clip. I lost my dad end of last year to mnd. I have a lx 4 door roller in my shed and i wish he was around to help me build it. Always cherish your family and always cherish your Torana ( to fly ) . loved your clip bro. I dont have my dad but i do have my Torana.

Well, chad McQueen isn’t wrong. So clearly you and chad are at odds. You can’t both be right. Let’s admit the fact that millionaires know more stuff than non-millionaires. Holden and chad know more than you, and they tell you to update your machinery every 10 years. At the very least, you should have a quick release steering wheel so you take it with you while you’re shopping, so nobody can steal your car. The scum will just smash into your torana in the street. Then they’ll say “what”.

dont worry..there's girls out there that have the same attachment to cars we used to own and know how you guys feel about them too. had an FJ back in the early 80's and had sell it for personal reasons at the time..found out recently its still living locally and would love nothing better than to be the one behind the wheel again.

Man I'm so happy for you both only people that have owned one feel like that for me though I'll never see my one again I sold her to become. A dad the guy had it for 1 week and backed her into a telegraph pole the roll cage saved them .thank GOD .HAPPY FOR YOU.

My first car was a LC-GTR XU1. I rote it off unfortunately. Fuck I miss that car. If someone offered me a Lamborghini or an LC xu1 I'd take the xu1. Fucking loved that car man.....
