A little while ago I spent a good 6 hours using this site to try and find tornado destruction paths on Google Earth! I found a few but my laptop suddenly updated and my markers with dates were lost unfortunately. Was still a fun activity to do, though!

This is so cool, because I been digging around about the EF-3 wedge tornado that hit part of Gloucester County Nj on 9/01/2021 because I believe it's states first one in recorded history and might be the longest one yet.

I checked my home town of bendigo Australia, we had one in 2003 and while it does show it, it doesnt show the correct path

Yep! That’s pretty typical of the BOM data. There’s a person who’s basically made it his life’s work fixing all of these! Hopefully when that’s complete we can gain access to that data.

@@scienceoutthere this is a year ago! But this is a huge coincidence, I LOVE international tornadoes and was just looking for ones and testing out others! I'd love to see better data maps (hopefully some improve soon, I attempted to find this EF4 that happened in Australia in March 2013 and data map dosnt have it I don't think.

How do you get the more detailed damage paths? With the older tornadoes having curvier paths? I need to know so can make videos about the tornadoes.

It’s being addressed as we go. It’s gotten so much better than version 1. Biggest issue is lack of space on mobile screens. And trying to avoid working on two separate programs simultaneously so that one is mobile friendly and the other is desktop friendly.
