Those high end derechos are wild. Experienced one first hand in Kansas on August 1, 1986. It's listed in the NOAA NCDC overview of that month. Though NWS Wichita called it an "inland hurricane" instead of derecho. 🤷‍♂️ The damage path wasn't that wide but was pretty long.

Thank you for this video. That tornado passed within a mile of my house but I was at work and didn't get to see it. Well done, guys.

This is why even zero gravity is NOT really zero gravity. At zero pressure in the air there is some density and that is the ether. -- Dmitri Mendeleev When a planet passes through the ether, satellites passing through the areas cleared of the ether GAIN ENERGY.

I'm pretty sure I saw one of the sprites with the naked eye when the storm was almost 300km away. A pretty severe storm. I had crystal clear sky above me all the way back then. Since then I was looking for materials about them. Thank you for the advices!

5/10/24 9:45-10:15 PM. Lakes region NH. We were waiting for the big CME to hit our magnetosphere and dive down in. Clouds were about to start rolling in and we were bummed then all of a sudden boom. THe most magical display i have ever seen, going from east to west. I thought it was the "base" aurora and accepted that. Woke up the next morning and my first thought was wtf was that? I saw it and was entirely blind to "STEVE" I'll never forget it and hope one day im able to see it again! I'm quite far away from where it's normally observed actually, as i type this out and hear the explanation. Do auroras sometimes start with bands that can be mistake for steve? Or did i actually see it? They'd appear faint, some would brighten up a lot and then they would disappear from one end to the other. Almost looked like (for example) The shadow of gas that comes out of a lighter with out igniting it. Wow i typed with my head down and left you a wall of text, sry.

in those days people didn't call visiting, "social networking." their thinking was more spontaneous and humanistic. the tv series l'ittle house on the prairie" was a disgusting parody of a noble past in which few people thought categorically.

There are a few excellent Aurora Facebook pages in the UK, also we don't recommend apps that use the KP index, as you mentioned it is previous activity, so notifications come after the event

June 2023 tornado outbreak in northern Ohio. Zero warning. Sirens didn’t even go off until way afterwards. Like 15 minutes after. Thankfully “only” up to EF-2.

When I was a kid in the 70s, our tornado warnings were so late that the tornado would already be past before the warning would come a road the radio. Dad watching the sky was the tornado warning we had to rely on.

With all the tech implemented in tornado/severe storm detection visual confirmation by a human is still the best. That's why I became a trained spotter via NWS . If you see a debris ball at ground level, you've got a tornado.

In the path of a radar indicated tornado? I've been a spotter since '74. Lived in Wichita Kansas for years. I've seen hundreds of tornados. My horse ranch just east of Clearwater was the first hit in the first Andover tornado. Short answer is yes. Many times. Nice video. Well done young man.

This video is wrong in so many aspects. Take for example highway overpasses. This has been highly studied and tested in wind tunnels with all papers published in the American Institute of Physics. There is no "wind tunnel" effect with highway overpasses. All the studies have found that hiding under a highway overpass is actually quite safe and exponentially increases your survival chances.
