They need to start doing this everywhere. I know NY needs them badly.

then they would be ticketing NYPD cars only

@@failtolawl NYPD ,and all law enforcement needs to learn they aren't above the law too, and if them getting a ticket teaches them that then give them a bunch of them. Sure emergency situations aside parking to go get doughnuts don't count :)

God bless these officers! I hope they are still doing this. Drivers parking on bike lanes is such a hastle.
@peter10624 жыл бұрын
First, it should be made legal to park bicycles in the car lanes. Maybe then some drivers will start to understand.

Cars would just run them over. Kinda like they try to do while they are going down the road.

Is there a difference between parking and dropping off?

nope, not legally.

Yes, there is a differentiation between Parking, Stopping, and Standing. They are all illegal in a bike lane though so it doesn't matter.

@@ph11p3540 You are totally right, its the 'what do I do attitude?' When drivers should know exactly what to do, that is a major problem in all aspects of driving. Also if you are not smart enough to think on your own, you shouldn't be driving.

Loving this video wish all the cities are doing it across the world and add ticketing bad pedestrians and cyclists to the mix too. NO ONE SHOULD BE ABOVE THE RULE OF LAW! Think of this too, cyclists only have one lane. Even with just one lane they are trying to take it away. Don't treat cyclists like and unwanted stepchild or a low class human being!

Under the HTA a bicycle is a vehicle and should be in the centre of the right lane. Bike lanes make no sense.
@forbeshutton54876 жыл бұрын
Incorrect. The HTA requires bike riders stay as far to the right as possible and use the shoulder if it's safe to do so.
@allgoo19645 жыл бұрын
Forbes Hutton says: "Incorrect. The HTA requires bike riders stay as far to the right as possible and use the shoulder if it's safe to do so." == Incorrect. The spot you are talking about is already occupied by parked cars. According to the drivers, the cyclists should be riding bicycles on the side walk, or disappear altogether.

They do for children, elderly and the physically handicapped. You just need better designs. Have a look at countries where cycling is integrated in traffic. Works out fine. Your kids will love you for it...

Until bicycle riders pay for registration, inspections and insurance that contribute to road maintenance they should not have special rights or the same rights as motorized vehicles..
@onenesscityhunter4 жыл бұрын
Uncle Johnny you are totally wrong and misinformed. As a citizen and resident of a city each and everyone are paying into the infrastructure maintenance. In your argument are you saying pedestrians do not deserve a path to walk on? It's about time someone is taking steps to enforce the law. See it too offen people are being endangered, because of our own human selfishness. Pedestrians taking over the bike lane even though there's sidewalk space, cyclists riding without follow traffic laws and cars park wherever they please. All with the mind set I am above the law and not hurting anyone. We allow need to learn to follow the rules and laws. Think of this cyclists only have one lane!
@mourlyvold76553 жыл бұрын
I dare you to name me one (1) country where road tax covers all the costs of implementation and maintenance of infrastructure for motorised traffic. Just one! You can't. So where do you think the rest of the budget comes from? Please do take me up on the challenge. Peace.

@@mourlyvold7655 Hi! greetings from Mexico where 70% of the of the people don't own a car but the 100% of us pays for car infrastructure, whether we use it or not.
@95bochamp5 жыл бұрын
Yup. Nothing quite like sacrificing part of a lane used by identifiable motorists who pay taxes and fees in order to accommodate anonymous cyclists who pay nothing at all. Brilliant.
@GarrettGreenwald5 жыл бұрын
So because someone rides a bicycle that means they don't own a vehicle or pay taxes, at all?
@95bochamp5 жыл бұрын
They may own a vehicle and pay taxes, but not necessarily. Besides, that is irrelevant to the point. There are few, if any, fees or taxes that are directly associated with operating a bicycle.
@cyclistedeLongueuil5 жыл бұрын
@@95bochamp So anyone violating rules should be exempt of a ticket if they pay taxes ? And BTW cyclists are paying taxes as well, even the one that don't own a car or a driver's licence.
@95bochamp5 жыл бұрын
@Mario Grenier, Motorists pay specific fees and fuel-related taxes that are supposed to be allocated to road development and maintenance. Cyclists do not pay such fees, yet they not only use the roads but also demand parts of them be dedicated to their exclusive use. There is something wrong with that arrangement.
@cyclistedeLongueuil5 жыл бұрын
@@95bochamp I imagine that things are not very different between Montreal and Toronto. It is the property taxes (municipal) that are used to pay for street maintenance, parks, public libraries, water treatment, recycling and, you guessed it, cycle lanes. Every citizen pays for those. What motorists pay for, isn't for the municipal roads but for the provincial network (highways). In Quebec the gaz tax acconts for approximately 20% of the Transport Department budget. The 80% missing is paid through Income taxes, paid by cyclists as well. And let's not forget that most of them have cars too. They just don't use it for everything, like going to work 7 km from home.
