Laws need to change in Canada so that we can legally protect ourselves. Criminals shouldn’t have the upper hand all the time, it should be the other way around. It goes without saying that if law abiding citizens were allowed to defend themselves, crime rates would decline drastically. Even the fields as they say. I mean, what’s next? I'm a retired Toronto Police officer, and I can't honestly believe an officer actually said that as home security advice. Home invasions aren't limited to car fobs only. Secure your property. Use a steering wheel lock on your vehicle and definitely buy security cameras.

Guys, this is only part of the brilliant crime prevention plan. You should also leave your wallet, SS#, mother's maiden names, cell phones, jewlerly, and title to your home on the front porch so they can grab those and go too.

How about try this: Find some old key fobs or someone develop a device the simulates 22 key fobs hanging near the door. When they try and scan the area for a signal, they pick up many different ones and cannot determine which one is for the car they intend to steal. Another option is to develop some kind of signal jamming device that works only in the area of the car.
