What happens when you take a Milwaukee M18 2867 and remove all of its M18 bits so that it can instead be driven by a 60V DeWALT 20" chainsaw DCCS677? The world was probably never meant to know, so we stepped in to temp fate and find out.

I know it's not an impact but have you looked into Hytorc or Radgun tools? They're making astronomical torque claims and I would like to see them get the TTC treatment.

@TorqueTestChannel 7 ай бұрын
@@user-ne1ik9zk7l We get offers, including from Hytorc for free ones which hey as a $7k tool that sounds fun. But they aren't particularly fun, just whr whr whr whr stop. High number. They work, they all work assuming they don't turn into confetti. It's a $200 cordless drill and a $2000 strong as heck gear box and LOTS of gear reduction. Good for tightening. Doesn't do much else.

The true question is where we will find bolts that need this kind of torque in the real world. Everything above 32 mm which actually has to hold stuff together is getting streched by hydraulics and then the nut is threaded on by hand, as i recently learned.

Eventually they will have to make all the tools 60v like makita with xgt line because power tools'd have more power, less heat, for example if they made 60v top drill I'd watch it in action compared to milwaukee flex etc
@msytdc1577
@msytdc1577 7 ай бұрын
@@TorqueTestChannelI've found there's a narrow range of 'seized up' where just adding MORE POWER will actually remove a fastener versus just turning one fused mass of metal and rust into multiple-one usually jammed real hard into your socket 😢😂 Often still need heat and judicious use of breakfree to separate and lubricate before giving it the beans, but I guess luck and experience factor into it...

@@rudyfromsomewhere3066 Not likely they'll make all tools 60v, just isn't worth it. That said, they do have 60V drills. One standard pistol grip model with a keyed chuck (DCD130), three stud/joist drills (DCD460, 470, 471), and a few SDS rotary hammers.

what I really enjoy about these videos are just the insight into impacts and how they function. of course the tool breakdowns and cutouts you do with walking us through parts does as well. I'd enjoy seeing a built up compact or mid torque. we're seeing brands releasing 1/2 high torque that pretty well align with 3/4 power, but don't see much on compact impacts hitting high torque 1/2 range. with pouch cells like forge hitting the market, a 3ah compact battery on a tool the size of a mid torque would make so much sense. something light and small enough to get into tight places where bigger guns would need replaced by a breaker bar. or possibly a right angle impact

I recently purchased both of Milwaukee's 1" impacts and love them but something that always frustrates me is the reverse bias power ratings. I still work on some older trucks and trailers that have left-hand lug nuts and the newer engines use torque to yield head, rod, and main bolts, which requires an impact gun stout enough to overcome 300+ ft lbs to turn the fastener an additional 60 degrees on a Cummins ISX. Is there a technical reason for the bias or is it mostly marketing that drives this trend? Love the channel. Thanks!

With this silliness, the next step is an “M208” version of the big Milwaukee D-handle, with a new “brushless” (3ph, 25hp induction) motor. Of course it might need a massive frame with caster wheels and a little hand cranked crane or jack to adjust the height and angle since it would be too heavy for a single person to pick up and would create 100 or 200 ft-lb of “kickback” torque just starting without a socket on it.
