I mean, Part 1,3,4,5 and 6 DO happen because of him. Without Dio, The Pillar Men probably would've destroyed everyone. As the Joestars wouldn't become familiar with Hamon. Without Dio, Jotaro's life probably would've went better. Without Dio, The stand users in Morioh probably wouldn't show up, though Kira would still continue his onslaught. Without Dio, Giorno wouldn't have been born and Diavolo would've kept his position as the leader of Passione. Bucciarati and others would've probably still tried to overthrow him but since Giorno isn't there, they probably would lose. And well, without Dio, Jotaro would have a great life more than likely. As he would have no followers of Dio after him, and therefore he wouldn't have to leave his wife and daughter. Seems like only Jotaro would benefit from Dio not existing.

Emporio may have prevented that from happening, but it doesn't stop there, by defeating Pucci, he freed the Joestar Family from their curse of fighting evil. Jolyne isn't even called Jolyne anymore, she's Irene, and all the other Jojos probably don't have a name like that either. They can finally rest.

Some lore for you good sir technically all stands have personalities but most stand users take direct control of their stand the entirety of the time or atleast make them follow their orders very strictly because of exactly what happened in the courtyard, they tend to make mistakes.
