It was a national emergency is not an excuse, shrugging your shoulders like it doesn't matter. That question about "don't you think case work has gone up?" well... much of that is down to the awful state of our civil systems. I'm trying to sort out a grant of probate for an estate that should have been sorted at the end of November. We're beyond two months over and no end in sight and that's standard across the board. The Tories keep cutting our civil service and that means the whole of society suffers. They're vandals.

You will be able to afford it. Most of us can't and have to do more than 1 job to survive the Tories! Sunak might be well briefed, but that does not make him a half decent leader of a country as divided as the UK. We need someone who actually wants to help the ordinary person have a good life. Cradle to grave stuff. Instead we live in fear of sickness, old age and inadequate education without crippling bills.

Interesting... This guy comes across as caring, self-aware, lucid & principled. On the strength of this interview, I might even vote for him! However, let's talk about what he DOESN'T say. After 13 years of ideologically driven, self-indulgent, reckless & deeply dangerous Tory misrule, on any metric you care to measure, the nation is WORSE OFF than it was in 2010! NHS? Gutted with staff leaving in droves. The nation's overall health? Far worse. Our ability to defend ourselves in the increasingly likely event of a major European war? Laughably inadequate & our natural allies no longer trust us. The economy? Permanently & irretrievably trashed because of Brexit. Infrastructure? Every road in the country is potholed & the abandoned HS2 has cost us HUGE for absolutely zero benefit. Education? The fabric of our unmaintained schools is falling to bits & many of our world class universities now teeter on the edge of bankruptcy. Even the basic rule of law & the individual rights we've all acquired over centuries have been subverted because a large part of the Conservative party quite likes the idea of unchallengeable, authoritarian rule. 'We're not the nasty party'...what a joke!
