That's a beautiful knife. I feel the same way about my Collector Knives micarta #77. It's the only knife I own that doesn't cut anything. I may get past that but it hasn't happened yet.

Hello. What a beautiful little knife. I would never use it either for fear of ruining the blade etch. If i am honest i prefere the elderberry spearpoint, it has a lovely patina on it now. All the best.

As you know, I love Barlows, so I share your gushyness! This is a lovely knife. I saw it up for sale, but you beat me too it! It’s not often you’ll see the Böker Barlow is "a wee bit bigger" than any other Barlow! That’s tiny. None the worse for that though!

I bought one and dropped and put a slight nick on each side of the bolsters. I was lucky and found a second one. I'm willing to sell the first one. I paid $180 for it. If you are truly interested please make me an offer.

@@paddyspotatopeelers2154 My one and only safe queen (so far) is actually a very similar type of knife: the Böker Barlow Steam Engine Damascus (www.knivesandtools.be/nl/pt/-boker-barlow-115941dam-steam-engine-damascus-zakmes.htm), only a 150 were made and I'm the proud owner of n°47 :-)

That is a nicely made knife, congratulations on finding such a rare knife, I have never really liked Barlows for no good reason. I have one old IXL that I gave to my dad decades ago and got back when he passed away, he never used it either, it's got patina marks from sitting in a drawer in his shed. Has IXL stamped on both nickel silver bolsters, a spear and a pen blade and stag bone covers but it just doesn't do anything for me, the odd thing is, gunstocks are very similar and I love those.

That's why this hobby makes for great conversation, I'm leaning towards just single bladed ones but yet rough rider came out with a micarta stockman and I love it. Makes no sence. Lol. Atb paddy 👍☘️😀

@@paddyspotatopeelers2154 That Micarta Stockman is on my list to get, I really like the sowbelly carbon classic from RR, also have a black bone Colt sowbelly and a Winchester checked brown bone sowbelly. As you can probably guess I like multiblades. What I like is the obvious pleasure the knife gives you, that's what makes the more expensive ones worth it as much as how good a knife it is.

@@paddyspotatopeelers2154 Also a GEC, an early 4" Toothpick in "perfect" condition with beautiful Mammoth Ivory scales. (he says while gushing). My friend picked up a small BM flipper with Damascus blade and Mammoth scales

I love how GEC knives look, but I have a hard time justifying the price. It seems you can get much better materials for much less from other manufacturers. That being said, of course, I'm going to someday own one. They're just so gorgeous...
