The little black book with signatures is called an Autograph book. I had one in 1965. All so thank you so much for giving the dimensions of your room. I always ask others with tours of their room what the dimensions are of the room , they never answer. Thank you for that.

This made me literally laugh out loud. When my daughter went to college (and had no plans to return home), I did exactly that! Boxed up all her treasures and stored them in the shed, the promptly painted and took over her space! I did leave the bed so she would have a space to sleep when she came home for a "visit". lol

@@theoregonduckfan lol My kids have all finally gotten their own homes. The entire finished basement, which my husband painted again beautifully, was so unused now, I took it over for my sewing studio!! I also have a small bedroom upstairs for and office/craft room, which I am organizing today. Finally have room to do more of what I want to do!! Yay!!

I agree with Martha Gaal! I have watched TONS of Craft Room videos, and by FAR, yours is the most organized, I mean TRULY organized, by far! I think one of my problems is that I have several brands going on for one type of item. Like, you have all Martha Stewart punches, and I have a hodge podge of punches, which makes it so much harder to store. Anyway, thank you SO much for your creatively organized craft room! TFS!!

I sometimes lack the patience to watch long videos but I was so impressed and inspired by your happy place I just had to watch the whole thing. What a beautifully organized space. My heart went pitter patter at how colorful, calm and organized this space is. Very well done! (The video and the space!) I have a goal to get all IKEA furniture. Right now I have a hodge podge of plastic drawer units, an 8 cubicle Kallax unit, metal frame drawer units and a drawer unit and miscellaneous organizers from Michael's and Hobby Lobby. My 2 craft tables are IKEA. It's all white so that makes it look less "hodge-podgy"! My space is a spot in my living room and I have it fairly well set up for how I like to craft. Since it's part of my big open floor plan of living room and kitchen in my one bedroom condo I insist on keeping it organized. I work best in an organized neat space. You gave me so many ideas! 😍😍🤔😍

It is a beautiful room. Mine was too....with murals on the walls, artwork...my happy place...so proud of it. But then I started going to crops and hanging out with ladies who cropped and had to have the latest tools. It became a clique. If you didn't have the biggest, baddest machine, you were frowned upon. I would say, I didn't need it....my husband would be upset...and the frowns increased. So I succumbed to their peer pressure in my older age. I have two electronic cutting machines....what if one would break down during an important project?! Heaven forbid! ...gotta have two just in case! I had the cuttlebug and a small assortment of dies....but then I had to have the Gemini Jr so that it was small enough to bring to crops and strong enough so that I didn't have to hand crank. I love my Gemini, but didn't realize that my Cuttlebug was responsible for my arms not turning into butterfly wings...all of that cranking was exercise...who knew?! I had to have stamp around the page, punch around the page, Anna Griffin this and Anna Griffin that...and it went on and on. I had to store my stuff, so my beautiful uncluttered tables had to be cluttered with new cubes that took up space to store my new toys. I hated the way that it looked, so I bought cloth bins to store the "stuff" so that it would look all pretty in the cubes that cluttered my table. I then found myself using the same tools over and over because I forgot what was stored in those pretty cloth bins inside of the cubicles that were now on top of my pretty tables cluttering up my space. So-o-o...one day, I decided to purge. I did. I gave tons of paper to my granddaughters who were ecstatic with all of the pretty papers and punches. I watched them destroy the beautiful papers that I had collected over the years with such glee.....I should have been happy watching all of that....but in the pit of my stomach my memories flooded with...I bought that paper for a flip book. I bought that punch for tags...they are destroying it all...what was I thinking?!?! But then a calm came over me as I recalled how this stuff had eaten away at my creativity and space. I then was able to even join in, t demonstrate better ways to destroy this precious paper....they would have none of it....they chopped away and I sighed. I came home to my work space only to realize that I had not even made a dent in it. I couldn't get rid of the bins because they were still full of STUFF! I then gave away to the church nursery....the Sunday School....the rummage sale....church projects.....teacher friends...you name it. I finally made a dent and made peace with the idea that it would never be the same as it was in the beginning. I am now making cards with everything that I had stashed and turned into idols. I will sell those cards cheap at church and take umbrage/joy in the fact that they will accumulate cash for the missionaries at church. God makes all things for good. He is turning my idols into a source of income for His missionaries. But how did I get to this point? I went to a crop and succumbed to peer pressure and greed even in my old age. So what is the take away from all of this, "A Date With My Craftroom"? Don't go to crops or succumb to peer pressure! LOL. Enjoy what you have and savor all of the joy that comes in those moments. You don't need to have every gadget that comes out on the market. Don't fall in love with pretty papers because they are the gateway to the heavy stuff! LOL I enjoyed your video because it reminded me of where I once was and where I long to be again. Enjoy your new space!!
@Adatewithmycraftroom5 жыл бұрын
Izzaboutchu! Wow. This has to be the most honest and real insight that anyone has shared with about my room. I don't really go crops but I do succumb to peer pressure, quite often. Recently I have noticed the shopping bags are piling up in my room and I'm hoping that this is only happening because at the moment I don't have any leftover time to scrapbook or be crafty. I am trying to play with my new goodies when I get them and not hoard. But it's a struggle. Thanks so much for your wonderful insight. HAPPY CRAFTING!💖
@opal7775 жыл бұрын
@@Adatewithmycraftroom It is interesting that you said that the shopping bags are piling up...that is a telltale sign...so be careful. Whenever I was uninspired or didn't have to time to craft....I shopped. Looking back, I think that it was because I wanted so much to have the time to do the things that I shopped for and they gave me hope that there would be time in the future and that it was something to look forward to working with. But that day never seemed to come and it piled up. Then I would have to organize in instead of use it when I did have the time. So just pay attention and be careful....listen to your inner voice as you shop for this stuff. Question yourself: Do I REALLY need this or am I buying it because it is pretty or someone else has it and love is, or is it something that is necessary for me to be able to craft...IE glue/disposable things? If it is something pretty....ask yourself it you have used up the other pretty things that you already have. If it is something that someone else who's work you admire has and you want to craft like they do...do you honestly think that that would pay off because you are yourself and they are their own individual self. Don't try to be like someone else...be unique. I am not trying to lecture....just trying to spare you my latent grief. Good luck...your room is beautiful!

Your room is quite efficient, even though I like it I could never keep it that way. As for most of your old items, we have the same things but mine came from me and the older from my mom (I'm 69 and remember using those things in school and at home. I have been trying to find the plastic doilies forever it seems. As young teens we would cut a roll of toilet tissue in half, take out the center cardboard. Then using narrow ribbon we would weave it through a plastic doily on each side. Pulling tissue out of the center it was exactly right size for blotting our lips each morning. Now I want to make another to remind me of those days and wipe up tiny spills on my craft table. Thanks for the reminders. If you ever find a couple extra, let me know and I will purchase from you.

Oh my gosh! Thank you. :) I am still active in scrapbooking for sure but have definitely not gotten the hang of time management since having a baby. He’s 3 1/2 and a little tornado! Lol. I’m ashamed to say that I haven’t even scrapped his 1st year of life, BUT, I made a step in the right direction and placed an order on Snapfish since they had a penny sale on 4x6! ❤️
