Recipe
INGREDIENTS
• 1 lb sea bass (cleaned and scaled)
• 2 tsp garlic powder
• 2 tablespoon olive oil
• 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
• 1 teaspoons black pepper
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon tony’s
• 1/2 lemon
• 1⁄3 cup white wine
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 450F°.
2. In a cup, mix all seasonings with oil
3. Place fish in a shallow glass or ceramic baking dish.
4. Rub fish with oil mixture.
5. Pour wine over fish. Squeeze lemon over fish
6. Bake fish, uncovered, for 15 min or until flaked
7. Drizzle remaining pan juices over fish and garnish with lemon wedges.

Great video! When I worked for the Division of Wildlife Resources, we raised those hybrid bass at our hatchery. They are a fun fish to raise, catch and eat!

Brant, I used to cook striped bass almost the same way back in the California delta. Using a bottle of cheap Italian salad dressing and basically poaching the fish in a pan. Those big fillets from a 5-7 pound fish melted in your mouth . Keep the lines tight in the kayak 🛶

Great video Brant One of my favorite fish to catch. You're in here in Indiana. I live between 2 reservoirs that have them in them. And I use a gay blade to fish for thit's a flat metal lurk. That's weighted on the front and you crank it really fast and they hit that thing like a runaway freight train, Works very well for other species of fish. Would like to see you try one where you're at. I think it would be an interesting video. I feel like I'm having a early Christmas. I watched Bama beach bomb this morning. Followed up by Darcizzle And now you better a good day for me. You and melanie have a wonderful christmas and a great new year

Hi! Nice video. I actually really enjoy the flavor of Temperate Bass species (Striped Bass, White Bass, Hybrid, and White Perch). I wouldn't say they are strong, but they have a more prominent flavor and just enough fat. It does help to bleed them.

Just drove this bridge today. Was looking at all the marsh and figured it’d be a good spot for trout and reds. How are you fishing those shrimp? Dragging along the bottom?

Hybrids aka wipers (striped bass- white bass) are members of the bass family which in the U.S. comprises white bass, striped bass, and yellow bass. The term bass is a misnomer for smallmouth, largemouth, spotted, black bass. Much like how the term brook trout is a misnomer because brookies are members of the char family and aren’t actually trout. Largemouth, smallmouth, spotted, and black bass are all members of the sunfish family which also include bluegill, pumpkinseed and redear, crappies, and rock bass.

Love the hybrids, a great tasting fish. Love the videos, keep them coming brother. I just use salt pepper little garlic powder and lemon juice or lime juice. But I will be trying your recipe next time I cook some.

So I cath a lot of hybrid White bass /stripe bass (we call them Whippers) on the Chattanooga River in Georgia. I like to bake them whole wrapped in bacon and stuffed with apples or mangos. They are fantastic.

You’re in a good spot for hybrids. When I first got my kayak not long after loving to Florida, I was catching them just south of you between Archie glover ramp and the train bridge for Mylar bayou. I thought they were striped bass and kept tossing them back until I could research and see the break up of the lines showing they’re hybrids🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️. Haven’t picked up another one since.

I've fished this area for 30 years. The water is only brackish after a heavy rain. Three good-sized rivers converge within a two-mile radius. I've caught many different species here. Nice trout and big redfish upstream. Bass and bream in the spring. Lots of little meanders to explore with a kayak. Don't fish it out.
