These videos must be an unbelievable aid when trying to sell your properties. To have the full build documented, to know it's been built the right way, that's value added.

Well done to the pair of you! Thank you for breaking it down. That seems incredibly cheap. Extensions usually cost more and you’ve built an entire house! Brilliant!

Hit the nail in the head, all the money saved on rent alone makes it worth it. We are also doing a barn conversion and whilst we spent 10k on a static caravan I can confidently say it's already paid for itself 2.5 times over and we still have a caravan so win win as far as we are concerned.

That's a real bargain - although the "sweat equity" is massive - having seen the outside of the cabin, the location and the potential with the big house build, the whole project is stunning.

Thanks guys, a further video on funding would be good because I watch your videos with envy and disbelief as it feels so far away from where my family are financially at the moment. Wishing you all the best!

@@tkmaxismthanks. I did watch that but they also say they'd like to do a further video on it. I'd like to see how they can afford to buy a farm, build a house and a humongous barn house, and how they manage their time to do it. I just can't imagine how I would ever be able to achieve what they're doing. Hats off to them, but I would love to know how.

Thanks for the breakdown very interesting. One thought one question. Thought - on your blinds good after sales is priceless. Any company can deliver it is way issues are dealt with if something goes wrong that counts Question, how much did you have to tidy up to do whole house run around 😁.

Extra deep overhang on your roof on the south side will help with energy efficiency. In the summer when the sun is high in the sky the overhang keeps your house cool, but in the winter the sun is low in the horizon so the sun streams right in and keeps the house warmer.

Really impressive build, well done, its been great to follow along. Do however keep in mind the 63k is a little misleading as labour should be around 1/2 to 2/3 of the cost to build.

It all looks great! Great to see. Any chance you know the make/model of that kitchen tap? Couldn’t find the info in any old videos/posts (unless I’m being blind, which is v possible!). I like the look of it, and guessing it works well…and we need new taps in our kitchen & utility room!

Windows and blinds: I'm sure they're not cheap but have you looked at the type of windows and blinds in German homes? I'm from Canada but after visiting some friends in Germany several times... If I was ever building my own home I'd she'll out for German windows with the shutters/blinds built in between the glazing. I know one thing for sure, I'm not a fan of blinds. They get so dusty and are not easy to clean. It's tedious and never that thorough. Another plus on the German windows. Easy to clean.

It has been a wonderful series guys, personally I think your finances should be your own affair and not anyone else's business. I would much prefer a video not on your finances but instead how much you think the main house will cost to build plus how long do you estimate that will take, that would be great thanks.

Weirdly, I had exactly the same issue with Blinds2Go. Bought two taped blinds and both were the wrong size. I had a large scale argument with them after they insisted they measure the recess-fit blinds without the end caps on (it was still larger than my measurements without them). I ended up getting a full refund and reordered blinds using the exact same measurements through 24/7 blinds and had no issues. Quality was better too!

Apologies if you covered this and I missed it, but was that inc or ex VAT? I’m wondering if you were able to reclaim it? Even if that figure is ex, and even accounting for the lack if a lot of labour costs, £600 p sq. m is really impressive. 👏🏻

Don't think you can complain about that at all... 50k is pretty standard for a 3 berth static ex trade where the finish is naff. Yours is closer to lodge level finish so don't think you'll have a problem selling it after the fact. Maybe with transport but sure you can sort that with the right buyer. If you start thinking of rent saving, 1k pm easy? If you sell it for 30k after 3 years that's a steal and you've broken even.

Love the break down but I have to ask how much did you make from KZfaq? Given it must take ages to film & edit it all whilst building plus how many freebies did you get because of it? sponsors etc as I hope people really could build something as beautiful as your cabin for 62k but they wouldn’t have the sponsors or any extra help, freebie tools etc.

It's 16 plus units with lots of draws and larders and included all appliances, worktops and hardware (plus the whole utility room). We shopped around and it was still cheaper than most. No doubt we could have done it cheaper but we are in here for a good few years so worth it I think.

It was our first thought but limit up our track is just over 10ft so thats a small static for a family of 5, dog, cat and the odd orphan lamb. It's also going to be 4 years in here so worth taking the time I think, we can still sell at the end to put funds to the build. 👍
