A trick i just learned after 3k hours in this game is that if you go to attack an AI army that will obviosly retreat, wait till your army gets in the zone of control then press the backspace key (need to be really swift in the timing here) and theyll be stuck in your zone of control. The only thing they will do is just encamp and youll be able to attack them next turn without them running far.

I also hate chasing ai armies. Firmly agree that retreating should eat into their movement from the next turn. That way you can effectively retreat once before the enemy manages to catch up to you

Retreat should mean losing half your movement the next turn

the new system imo is fine...you just cant move armies from one side of your realm to the other...you are better off having more armies of lesser quality that never stop attacking or have a couple half stacks on defense and one attacking army...that is if you care about getting even the smallest bonus. But it isnt supposed to be full grudge points every cycle.

I know this is already long done, but it does bother me a little that MA seems to have forgotten that there is an option to delay the age of reckoning refresh (aside from choosing to start a new one). Yes, it means you'll have to settle a lot more grudges overall but delaying it does mean you keep your current progress and stuff. So yeah, it's demanding but not exactly brutal I think. Just my thoughts.

@S_S_S_Aban as you said it means having to get 20% more next time which... considering at the time (they patched it) I was struggling to hit even the second tier I was not confident in hitting that if I needed 20% + whatever it had decided to add to the total

@@MonstersAbound Fair enough, it's probably even harder for Malakai cuz he's not surrounded by a lot of Grudgepoints-heavy factions too, unlike I suppose Thorgrim and Ungrim who can just go east and squish some Greenbois and Chaos Shorties, or Grombrindal who could purge all the Edgy Elves haha. Glad they patched it to make it a lot less hard to do and all though :)

@@S_S_S_Aban Trust CA to rework grudges for the release of a Dwarfen LL who would struggle to settle grudges under the rework. One step forward, half a dozen backwards for that company.
