As a car lover, this does indeed make me very sad to see this sweet little BMW roadster in such a broken condition. 😥😔 It even has the hardtop, which is hard to find. I do believe the car could have been repaired, but at a high cost. I’m sure there are lots of good usable parts on there, so the car’s legacy at this point will be to help provide those useable parts for other BMW Z4s in need. Thank you Euroasian Bob for sharing.

got hit with a guy that had temp tags. called pd dept and they said that is not a register plate.

It's called an accident, but being uninsured is not. How can the owner be made whole again? How does Kansas handle this type of problem?

I can't speak for Kansas, but here in Missouri if you are hit by an uninsured motorist, you file an "uninsured motorist" claim to your insurance company. Your company pays your claim and they go after the uninsured motorist for damages.

I have this exact car, right down to the color. Mine has 49,000 miles. Is the convertible top available for sale? Just need the cloth and rear window, not the mechanism. A tree branch fell and broke the rear window, which is integrated with the cloth and can't be replaced by itself. Sorry to see such a cool car wrecked.

Actually for me that car would be a relatively easy fix. I rebuild cars for a living and have fixed worse. A good frame puller could straight that

How did urination Bob get it. He should have had insurance coverage for non insured. They usually take the car, and put it in auction

Depending upon a number of things, you can purchase the car from the insurance company for your deductible. I did that once when they totaled a car of mine (very minor damage compared to this one). Since it was my winter car, I got the framer straightened professionally, then handled the rest myself. Had it back on the road, safe and looking good, for very little money.
