Can confirm that YES "Leon" (the Sphynx) did move (the face) and the mouth opened wide and had a weird video screen inside that showed "waveforms" as it sang the last verse. It did bellow smoke from it's nose and shoot fireworks/sparks from it's eyes... the only thing that didn't happen was it didn't destroy the drum set. At the opening of the show, the mouth opened wide enough that first a curtain of lasers shot out before KISS stepped out of the mouth and ran onto the stage. Leon's last big trick was the head/face folded backwards and down and the sides of his head dress turned into flashing lights as the KISS logo rose up from behind the drums. (Yes, me and boys had also smoked some weed and taken peyote as well as drinking peyote tea)

I’ve seen KISS 5 times, they have never disappointed, but for me, the KISS my ASS tour show without makeup was the best.

Saw them in '78 as a young teenager in Columbia, SC. As advertised we experienced "all the fire & fury of a live Kiss show..." Epic.

Kiss 1979 at Roberts Stadium in Evansville IN. Was the first concert I ever saw. The ticket was a gift from my brother in law for my 13th birthday. I had never seen any thing like it before or since. These guys absolutely put on the best performance I've ever seen. It was not just the music it was a performance. Gene, blew fire and spit blood, so much blood that he threw out several towels soaked with blood. I was on the stadium floor and I was ducking for cover so one of those bloody towels wouldn't hit me. Ace, played a guitar solo that was amazing he had rigged his guitar so that one of the pickups slid backward a revealed a blinding white hot light, and in another one of his solos the guitar shot rockets. Peter, got up from his drum kit and walked off stage and came back with about 2 or 3 dozen red roses and while he sang Beth, He passed out the rose to the ladies in the front row. When he did his drum solo his drumkit was elevated hi above the stage. At the very end of the show there was a 20 ft long cage filled with confetti, that rained down on the people on the floor. I can still see this in my mind and I am now 56. When the music stopped my head started ringing and I could not here anything my sister or brother in law were saying. It was the most amazing thing I ever saw or heard in my 13 year old life. I have seen some Kick Ass band in my life but nothing came close to the first. THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD

The first concert I ever saw was Kiss on their Love Gun tour in 1977 at the Montreal Forum I was 13 yrs old Cheap Trick was the opening act ... & If I remember correctly tickets were $4.00 The show was awesome!! This was at the height of Kiss popularity .. They performed God of Thunderbird near the end of the show with Gene spitting blood ... I didn't see them on the Made in the Shade tour but I saw them on the tour after that which was the Revenge tour in 1992 .. which was also very good, there was no Sphinx behind the drums ... on the Revenge tour, this time Kiss had the Statue of Liberty behind the drums & if I remember correctly near the end of the show Lady Liberty's face falls of to reveal a scull/ skeleton face .... ( equally as freaky as what the Sphinx face was doing) anyway if you get to see Kiss live when their farewell tour resumes .. do yourself a favor and do it , Kiss are Rock n Roll legends.

Ive seen them twice. Their Hot in the Shade tour was my very first concert. Yes the Sphinx head did move, but no where near that extent. Lol. Kiss has always been one of the greatest live acts ever. You dont even have to be a fan of the music to enjoy the show. You keep watching more live performances, you will not be disappointed.

Awesome. I'm a life long KISS fan and I'm sure it was the acid trip. They put on a show to remember. Gene use to just be raised on a line by himself during this song. My first KISS show is on KZfaq. I didn't film it. We were on stage right half way out about 2 or 3 rows from the floor seats. It was July 6th (I believe it was the 6th) in 1996 in Kansas City. I'm happy to see you're finally experiencing KISS and I hope you enjoy it all. I haven't seen how much you've seen from them but I think you'll like their song Hooligan. It's a nice jam.

I grew up loving this band. I was 6 or 7 when Beth was all over the radio. I had older cousins who loved them and I got into them as a result of early exposure to them. I was FAR too young to attend a Kiss concert. In 1996 (at the proper age of 27) I got to see them with all the original members. That concert is forever burned into my memory. Never had a minute to sit down because there was always something worth standing for to see. That stage show and theatrics is just off the chain. They really did set the bar for live performances. One of my favorite concerts of all time. I find it very sad that addiction pulled Ace and Peter out of the band and I dare say they never really recuperated from all that craziness in 1979. Seemed to loom over them like a dark cloud when the original lineup came back in the 90's. However, I'll never forget them and that show. F*cking awesome.

KISS in concert I have seen them live 9 times every time was awsome. You. have got to see them experience them and feel them trust me you will not be disappointed.

I've been going to KISS concerts since I was 4 in 97. You have to definitely watch them play War Machine in Rio in 1983. Also, Love Gun Live 2000 6/27/00. I was at that concert and just turned 7.

I was already in love with then since eary 90's when my friends showed then to me...I was hooked bought everything from them. Love the 70's kKISS by far. I saw them as a birthday present when the group came back to gether with their make up on in AZ, Ifg you see KISS live you'll love them forever. Period.

Great reaction, I've seen Kiss live approx. a Dozen times. Once without the makeup in the mid 80's and the rest after they put the makeup back on. I've never been disappointed. They bring it 110% every time. Gene use to be strapped into a harness built into his costume and would "fly" up to a platform in the lighting rig with a mike and sing "God Of Thunder" up there. Was a truely incredible sight to see. But seriously all 4 of them would give it their all from the first note to the last.

I don't remember the mouth moving like it was singing, but the head did move around, with spotlights/lasers coming out of the eyes. Very cool. The first kiss show I went to was August 31, 1979. It was at the providence civic center in Rhode Island. I was going to an over night camp I knew my dad bought tux for a few friends and mom went and took pictures. Anyways, I made my escape to home and went to the show. The opening band was New England who are an amazing band. There first album was produced by Paul Stanley, real name, Stanley Eisen. I went and that concert was amazing. When I went back to camp the next day, they were looking for me and asked me where I went. I was wearing the KISS tour shirt. Busted. But what a memory...

His favorite songs are "Black Diamond" and "Cold Gin. " But he says, " The aren't really any bad KISS songs." He's in his 20's. This isn't the best version of this! The band liliac was on the last kiss cruise and members of the band came and watched them play and melody even had a painting with ace freely lesson, they are also scheduled to be on this year's cruise whenever that takes place.

I saw them on the Creatures of yhe Night tour in 1983 just after Vinnie Vincent joined. He stumbled a lot In the platform shoes, but it's my most memorable show ever. The comedy of errors of me and my freinds leading up to and during the show is a long story, but great memories. I saw them again in 2003 when they played with Aerosmith. They went on tour and traded being headliners for that tour, Kiss opened. I learned on the shuttle to the show that Ace had left the band again. My favorite guy, but never did get to see him.

I went to my first Kiss concert in February 2020 in Wichita Kansas. I've been to a lot of rock concerts they were excellent. Kiss was the loudest, the light show was amazing, the explosions the smoke and flames, and the heat off the flames was hot it was very cold outside it felt good. I went tosee them only once unfortunately. June 28, 1996 at Tiger Stadium in Detroit. The official kick off to the reunion tour, when they put the makeup back on, and with all original members. Alice in chains on the bill too, epic show.

I went to two concerts during the Monster tour and both were awesome. One was in Lethbridge Alta where they had the huge mechanical spider. It was such a great show. The second was in Calgary, they had to postpone the show due to the bad flood year and it just so happened to be rescheduled when I was there for university. It wasn't as ornate a show, but it was still so amazing! They put on such great shows.

My very first concert was KISS in 1979 on the Dynasty (Disco) Tour when I was 15. It blew me away. I then saw them on the Lick It Up Tour after they nixed the makeup. Another great show. The last time I saw them was 2009 on the KISS Alive 35th Anniversary tour. I took my son who was 12. I picked him up early from school. I kept it a surprise the whole 3 hr drive there. He figured it out when we got a block from the Coliseum and he saw the guys selling bootleg shirts. He screamed "We're going to see KISS!" The smile on his face was priceless. And what a show. Just me and my little head banger!

Hot in the shade was a great show and the Sphinxs head did indeed look like it. And alive and sang . These guys are pushing 70 and still do there thing on stage in full battle gear. Amazing to watch.

That LSD will get you every time. Like others have said, the head did move a little and there were lights coming out of it's eyes with explosions, but the mouth part was done with a laser machine. I can definitely understand where the ACID-DUDE was coming from and what he thought he was seeing. TOO FUNNY. Now, this was not the best version of God of Thunder, but I still love that you liked it. Someone did say earlier that the 70's version is the best, but if you can find a live video from the 1996 reunion tour, that is a good version as well. I know because I was at that show and have now seen KISS a few times since. Hope you get to see them after Covid because they are on their final tour..AGAIN. LOL.

Been to 6 Kiss concerts in my life and loved every single one! My older brother took me to the 1st in Memphis in their non make up days, we caught them on their reunion tour in Memphis in 96, 23 yrs later got together again for their Farewell tour again in Memphis, then saw them one more time in St Louis with my wife, her sister and husband.

I've been a fan of Kiss since 1987. I just recieved their '87 Album "Crazy Nights" on Vinyl. In 2016 My Dad and I got to see them on their "Rock The Nation" Tour. It was a great show. All That I thought It would be. I would've loved to see them in the 80's/90s at their peak. Couple Suggestions: New York Groove from Under The Brooklyn Bridge and Black Diamond, from The Midnight Special TV Show. I have tons more to suggest, but will leave You with 2.

I first saw KISS on the Animalize tour and every tour after until Psycho Circus at Dodger Stadium. Many tours I went to 2 or 3 shows. They always bring it. My buddy and I ran into Gene and Eric Carr before a show and both of them couldn't have been nicer.

Seen kiss several times since the 70s. Never a disappointment in the sound, quality of the stage show. The sound was always always on point. The energy from the band was 110% out of this world. Very very well executed from the time they went on was always on time. The show 2 hours of hard rocking music. No time filler in long drawn out sections of talking or solos just plain rock n roll and great theatrical performances. Seen them around 7 times and the last one was the current tour that has been suspended like a lot of tours. I’m sure if they come close to make up a show in this area I’ll make every effort to go see them again. Best show for the buck that’s for sure!

Multiple times I have taken friends to their 1st KISS show who either weren't big fans or not fans at all and every single time that person has left the show and the 1st thing they said to me was, "That was the greatest show I've ever seen. I want to see them again."

Would have been great to see them at this point in their career. I got '86 with WASP. WASP was amazing. KISS not so much. I saw Simmons trip up the stairs (stairs shaped like lightning) and Stanley forget the lyrics. I left in the middle of the concert, as we were heading to the parking lot I heard them blow the transformer and they left. Not a good night for KISS I guess. I got to see WASP. I was happy.

God Of Thunder is kind of Gene's trademark song, but it's written by Paul Stanley. There's a version with Paul singing that's pretty hilarious, it's very uptempo and almost disco-like. The producer, Bob Ezrin, said we're going to slow it down... and Gene will sing it. Needless to say, Paul Stanley was not happy about this. It was definitely the right call, and even Paul agrees to that.

I have been to 10 KISS concerts....the TIGER STADIUM IN 1996 was probably my favourite as well as the Dynasty tour in 1979 at Cobo Hall in Detroit !!!!...if Ace and Peter aren't in the band....then it wasn't that great !!!!
