Did you guys notice there's a different drummer? That's the Fox, Eric Carr. He died of cancer the same day as Queen's Freddy Mercury in 1991.

This was the first KISS song I ever heard (9 or 10 years old), and I immediately loved this band. A couple of weeks later, I got "Unmasked" - my first album. From that day on, I was addicted to KISS -> Rock -> Hard Rock -> Heavy Metal. 40 years later, I still am.

Ace's voice is probably the most emotionally expressive and variable in the whole band. This one is so positive that the guitar even sounds happy.

You guys REALLY need to start reacting to more live KISS shows from the 70's when they were in their TRUE glory and at the height of their popularity. AWESOME stage shows, music and production and then you guys can REALLY see Gene in his "demon/monster" character with his stalking, blood spitting, fire breathing, etc.

This song speaks to the massive international popularity of KISS. Talk to Me was from an album, Unmasked, that nearly died in the US. However, in Australia 🦘 and other countries, it was very surprisingly successful. KISS played very huge stadium shows in Australia on their first tour there in 1980.

Check out the song "I still love you" from the Kiss MTV Unplugged set. I was just watching the reaction for "I was made for loving you" and heard yell mention Paul Stanley's range and voice. This song really showcases that.

Ace added the humor and the rock to the band. Love his songs... 2000 man, his KISS solo hit NY Groove. Every member sang and had their own style. Even all 3 drummers, Peter Criss, the beloved and missed Eric Carr and Eric Singer. Black Diamond, from Australia 1980 is amazing. Forever was their big ballad in 1990. Heavens on fire, i love it loud, creatures, god of thunder is genes best old school hard rock.

Thanks so much for giving KISS a little love & respect. Not many reactors go into the KISS catalog that often. Especially the deep cuts. There's so many great songs. Unfortunately not all of them have an "official" video or live performance. Keep going down the rabbit hole you'll find some great songs.

I don't know if you guys noticed but when this was shot, Kiss had a new Drummer: Eric Carr, who didn't actually play on this song but look up footage of Kiss live in Australia 1980 to see how much difference he made to the overall sound of the band, they sounded tighter, heavier. Eric Carr stayed with the band until his death from Cancer in 1991, he had the misfortune of dying the same day that Freddie Mercury died, because he'll always be "The other guy who died that day."

This is from an album that is really polarizing for fans. This album (Unmasked) and the Dynasty album were when Kiss experimented with a more disco sound. Although Ace's songs were definitely more rock oriented. My favorite song on this album is probably Paul's song Tomorrow. I just think it's really catchy.

I agree, most of Kiss' songs are usually on the lighter Hard Rock side. It wasn't until 1982-1998 that they tried to sound and look more like a Metal band. There are only a small handful of songs that could be considered dark, or inappropriate: God Of Thunder, Christine Sixteen, War Machine, Unholy, and Domino.

You guys are sweet and sincere. Love your Kiss reactions! If you want a pretty darn powerful live “1-2 punch”, watch Kiss in live in East Rutherford, NJ (year 2000). The opener Detroit Rock City followed by Deuce...and btw, you’ll see a girl in the front row at the end of Deuce with a tongue 👅 that might just be longer than Gene’s!😉). Keep up the great work and THANK YOU!🙏

You Need to checkout Paul Stanley's solo album song "Take Me Away (Together as One)". This is from the '78 KISS Solo albums when all 4 released their own collective KISS Solo Album. Also from this same video shoot that "Talk to me" was recorded there is a song/video called "she's so European" from this same album, Gene song. I guess a lot would call it a through away song but I personally like it a lot.

I didn't know this song, so it was nice to hear it - I had assumed that it was newer stuff! It's funny how low key it seems compared to a lot of stuff especially, like you said, we wee so conditioned to hearing how rebellious and satanic their music was supposedly. I don't go very deep in KISS, but I know the Destroyer album from start to finish, one of my favorites, I'd love to see you take some time there, maybe "Detroit Rock City". And yes - Paul Stanley is very pretty! :D :D
