This video will show you how to remove the front seats from your Audi A4, S4 or RS4 Avant (B6 and B7 2001-2008).
This video features an S4 Cabriolet, but the saloon (sedan) and avant (estate) are virtually identical for removal purposes, so this video should cover all A4/S4/RS4 B6 and B7 models.

Excellent detailed video. I have a question, My 2013 A5 3.0 sline has manual seats which i`m wanting to upgrade to fully electric seats which my 2008 version had before. Ive not checked yet to see but if the green female socket is not in the car for the heated seats option do you know how i can add that etc as the seats i`m looking at are the heated version. Any help is appreciated. Cheers Mark

I have one question. Is that possible to install a S4 B7 seats in A4 B7 avant? Are they compatible? Amazing video btw!
@TotalTechnik
@TotalTechnik 4 жыл бұрын
Hey there! Yes, that is absolutely possible. A common and popular upgrade! It will also upgrade the seats to electric if you don't have electric ones already. It will be plug and play, but you will have to upgrade the fuse as it will trip. Try 30 amp from memory. And if you adjust the seats quite a bit (different size drivers) then you might want to consider upgrading the power wire coming into the seat plug to a slightly thicker gauge to better handle the upgraded power pull. What about if the motor is not working is there a manual way to move the seat to be able to get to the screws on the bottom?

@TotalTechnik 7 жыл бұрын
Hey there! Yes, there is but it can be tricky. If possible, get the power back (re-charge battery or whatever the issue may be) as that is the easiest way. Thanks for the response, but the car has a new battery and i've tested the seat by giving it direct power. It moves up and down, not back and forth. So I think the motor is done. I want to take it out so i can test it.I have already initiated on taking out the back seats the driver seat as i need to remove the carpet. (Due to water damage) I was going to go with removing the center console as it may make it easier for me to get to both sides to the driver seats. I also did more research as it looks like some seats have the rail system and on the front, by removing the plastic cover. Looks like you may be able use a power tool with correct socket to move each side at a time at least to get the seat to go backwards. Don't know if that will work, but I'll keep you updated. Thanks again for the response.
@TotalTechnik
@TotalTechnik 7 жыл бұрын
Yes, sounds like it will be a pig of a job TBH. If you managed to get power direct into the seats and it's still dead then that could point to a motor having blown. You may be able to get power direct to the forward/backward motor. That is usually located in the centre of the seat underneath, and can be reached from behind. That would be worth trying in case the motor is ok and there is a bad connection somewhere. At least once you try powering that one motor direct you'll know for 100% certain if that motor is dead or not. Best of luck!

I stripped the threads on the carside wit hthe M10 bolts, is it possible to replace threading to one of the 4 bolts that the seat is seated in?
@TotalTechnik
@TotalTechnik 3 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a nightmare! Hard to say without seeing it. You could, in theory, cut it out and have a new one welded in, but may be safety coonotations with that. You could maybe try drilling it smooth, and then cutting a new bigger thread, and fitting a thicker bolt to fit. @TotalTechnik
@TotalTechnik 7 жыл бұрын
Hey there! I'm pretty certain the green is heated seats actually. I'd have to double check on the workshop software as going from memory, but doing a quick Google search confirmed that green is heated. Here's a great example: www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/169617-B6-A4-1-8T-Seat-Memory-and-Mirror-Memory-Tilt "Remove the plastic cover and you will see four connectors; yellow (airbag), red (seat power - the one we will be working on), green (seat heating) and black (seat belt sensors)." So, if that's right (and my memory serves) then green is indeed heated, red is power including memory (if fitted). Hope that's useful.
