In this tutorial, we create a light painting installation in TouchDesigner. By isolating the brightest spots of an input video or webcam feed and turning them into a geometry with the TraceSOP, we can then add particle systems along the way.

hey, thanks for tutorial. this the first one ever I follow (coming from Houdini). When we keep single point, In delete SOP, seems we can set delete by pattern to 0 and also set Operation to Delete not selected? This way we avoid messing with range.

thanks for a cool tutorial! I cant seems to get the bloom settings correct. It looks like there might have been some changes to its settings ( i am running on 2023.11760). COuld that be the reason?

Same there are additional settings in the bloom top now: Bloom Threshold, Bloom S-Curve and Bloom Fill. The new version is missing the Bloom Alpha toggle button.

Unfortunately, the Bloom TOP algorithm and parameters were changed in version 2023.11510 (including the removal of the Bloom Alpha toggle). We'll check in and see what parameter settings should look like in newer versions, stay tuned!
