thank you for this excellent demo. is there a way to have the replicated items automatically connected to the comp rather than connecting each item to the comp manually?

Yes, with a Callback DAT 7:55

Very useful to know about the replicator. Thanks! I would have used the event and geo instancing. There's an example in the operator snippets, if you don't know it

Hi Niels, that's a good point. I know it is better to use texture instancing, but I couldn't think of a way of animating specific instances at different times. Do you see a way of doing the example in the video with instancing?

@@threedashes___ If you go to the Operator Snippets in the Help menu, and find the "Event" chop, the first example is not far from your method, but made with instancing and no python, and there's other clever ways of using the event chop too
