Scott is definitely the center that the other four play off of. The other four would sound more disjointed and chaotic without Scott's solid and centered vocals to ground them. His sound helps to accentuate the other four.

I think everyone across all walks of life can agree Kirstie is pretty lmao. Especially in this video! The makeup look is killer. I think Scott is the linchpin for the group. He is the happy medium to everyone and I agree that he’s so insanely versatile. Definitely give Scott some love haha.

Great reaction! Scott is the chameleon of PTX and his vocals flow wherever he is needed for the music. He has a lot of creative input along with Kevin and Avi) in the arrangements. An amazing arranger and song writer! He is so talented and I feel that his best talent is how he holds every other team member up to the light if that is what is best for the music. You want Scott to make an impression on you that you won't forget, you need to see his latest solo release of his original song, Mars. The song and video are stunningly beautiful! He has three versions of Mars. One has like a movie video to the song and is an official video version. Scott produced the video and it is breathtaking. The second version is also an official video and it is Mars sung by Scott and accompanied by a choir. The third is an acoustic version that is perfection. The choir version will melt your brain cells and Scott will leave a lasting impression on you. It is amazing! Would be great to see a reaction to all three versions and see what the favorite is for other subscribers. Thanks again for your great reactions!

Scott is definitely a vocal chameleon. Mitch and Kirsty are the physical chameleon's they change their looks constantly and if you have to ask, yes, it is always mitch and Kirsty. But Scott just, as she said, kind of weaves all over the place. He covers the bass when the bass (matt or Avi) has a solo he just does it all! this was such a fun reaction to watch you guys! I would recommend you guys check out: Come Along, Making Christmas, Shallow, Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Broken), The Prayer, and Sound of Silence.

I've said this before. PTX is a freak show--in a good way. Wow, see how deep Avi goes, Man, see how high Mitch can sing, Holey Moley, listen to the crazy sounds Kevin makes. It's Kirstie and Scott who bring the whole crazy thing back down to earth.

I have two Scott solo performance suggestions, which I think, will illustrate his versatility and just raw talent he has. The first is "I Should Tell Your Mama on You". This one really highlights his range and control. The second is his first Original solo work, which was released last year. Titled "Mars", it shows just how much he's matured as a vocalist & person. The video is Stunning!

They are ALL multifaceted, Scott does have range and all but the rest do as well, Avi has a 5 octave range and can do some vocal percussion, Kevin beatboxes, sings and plays cello (and can play sax) Mitch has incredible range and Kirstie well what can we say oozes talent. Ben Bram (unofficial 6th member and main arranger) declared both Avi and Mitch as generational talents.

Avi's bass is just one of those that shakes the body. Kevin is just a maniac!!! UPGRaDE. Ok let's be real, Scott kinda is the leader, he and Brent Bram formed the group, idea. Scott is one of those that the more you listen you realize just how fantastic he is, it kind of hits you at once. If you do their original "Prayers for this World" His vocal is totally insane. Hey stop interrupting LOL!!!!!!!!!

I'm a huge pentaholic (check my profile pic - shows my pentaholic tattoo!) & it just tickles me to see ppl enjoying their songs like y'all do! I can't wait for you to get to see them in concert! Now they have a huge production with lots of lights & graphics, fog & all kinds of stuff. But it's still my humble little group that I love like they are my own children.💜 You will be so amazed at how good they are live!! Thanks for the great entertainment, & no, I didn't leave after y'all's bickering - I was completely amused!! XO

React to The Prayer - you will see Mitch and Scott both in a way you never have, and of course the entire group is amazing!!! This song, Cheerleader, is when they were just babies - LOL - They are now what I call 'seasoned' and just seem to get better with every song! Yes, you will see both Kirsten and Mitch change their appearances quite often ... they were still finding themselves in the early days of the group - love that you love this group! 😊There has only been one member change since they came together, so don't let the 'look' fool you!

Scott does way more than people realizes, he's the backup bass for when Avi or Matt sings, his range is insane he's a Baritone but can sing up to Tenor 1. Scott can change the tone, texture and sound of his voice to match whatever song they're singing. You do need to focus more on Scott. Scott also does most of the arranging of the music of the group along with Ben, so he does a ton of work behind the scenes to make these songs as awesome as they are. He's also the "front/hype man" when they're on tour because of his totally hyper/spastic personality. He loves to be out and interacting with the crowd, doing TikToks with them and such. You need to check out some of Scott's solo work, he's released his own solo EP now and his music is amazing. Scott is not someone to sleep on, his vocals are freaking amazing. And I say all that with Mitchy being my favorite. Y'all should definitely check out some Superfruit, Scott and Mitch singing alone are amazing. And yes Scott does tend to be out and in front on stage more because he's 6'4 with long arms and he's always dancing and moving and if he stayed close to the others he'd take someones eye out or mow over poor Kirstie! LOL

Yes, Scott is vocally the most versatile when it comes to style/genre of whatever song they're doing. All the members have fabulous range on notes, but Scott can do the most different "sounds" (tones? inflections? Not sure what you call it but that vocal quality that gets associated with certain genres). They all can rap, sound electronic for edm songs, & belt it (be a power vocal) when needed. But Scott can go full on island/Jamaican accent, sing falsetto keeping it clear/sharp, but also do deep vibrating bass sounds almost as low as Matt (of course there are only a few people on Earth that can go as deep as Avi, basso profundos are even more rare than Mitch's counter-tenor so I'm not gonna compare his ability to Avi's), sing with a country twang (without hurting your ears), go hard-rock gritty, & he is so good at soul/the blues! There's a video several years old now of Scott doing solo a song called I Should Tell Ya Mama On Ya. He sings the lyrics while also doing his own bass notes & keeping rhythm with snaps & chest thumps. It's not the most fabulous song in the world but it's a fun one to check out to see what Scott does to imitate it a cappella.

You two are just adorable and I love it when you react to Pentatonix! Cindy, I felt your pain immediately. I would have smacked the back of his head for interrupting, like Gibbs did with Dinozzo (sp?). Like the rest of them, Scott’s talent is off the charts. He released his first solo song late last year, it’s called Mars and it’s a true showcase for his talents. There’s a snippet of the song that he did a cappella called something like Mars Now Available that was released as a teaser, and he’s a beast in that. I would recommend the official video as it was the first version released. You’re right, he is really tall, 6’3”. As for live Pentatonix, there’s a video of them doing Ride that has good video and sound, also for a radio station appearance I think. Thanks for this one, well done. Peace from Ohio …

"Why are you interrupting me?" I say that to my wife all the time..... To see what your wife is talking about watching Scott sing isn't going to tell you anything. Watch what he does when he's not singing. Watch when he's doing backup vocals, watch when, he stands next to the lead singer, and gives them a smile just before their big solo (Kirstin just before the end of the song, if you miss him giving her the look, you'll know when she hits that note, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p7VgZLd6u76Xg4E.html, but if you also notice, she gives him the exact same look just before his solo toward the beginning.) Another only halfway related, just how good is it, that they've been singing together this many years, and yet they can still give each other those looks, and that look can actually make each other brave enough to do their part, and do it correctly. If only everyone had friends that good.

I loved your comment about how Avi's bass "fills up the room, like a huge warm blanket that wraps around the song, and just holds it". He does that with his solo music as well, even when he's singing baritone. For an example of a song that wraps you in another warm blanket, react to his original solo song (co-written with Grammy winner Joy Williams) "All Is Well". While he's done a few versions of the song, this one, filmed in a church in Utrecht, Netherlands during his second European tour last Spring, is just him, his guitar, and the acoustics of the church creating a stunning, beautiful piece. It also showcases how his voice has matured and evolved since leaving PTX in 2017. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qbSalaRyz6yYhJs.html

I appreciate what you said about fancam recordings. I've done a few myself (Avi's 2019 tour San Francisco and Dallas shows, and his Nov 2022 show in Berkeley), and was always determined to give as steady and full a picture as I could, considering where I ended up in the venue. I also specifically restrained myself from making any personal noises like clapping or singing along, which was often much easier said than done.

So exciting that you did another PTX reaction! Your couple interactions were amusing. I laughed out loud, Ryan, when you said you were going to cut out all of Cindy's comments. Ha! Like that is going to go over. (Love you, Cindy!) And you guys make a great (real) couple. I do think it's interesting how much PTX changes the originals and makes them their own. They usually do some changes in the arrangements. But here you could see that they went more with the school cheerleader type setting (completely different from a Jamaican beach!) I do LOVE their choreography on this one too (especially the beginning and end of the video). Perfection. I have had theoretical discussions with my family in regards to who is the "weakest link" in PTX. As in, who could easily be replaced. And, really I have changed my opinion with time (as in, originally, I thought a certain member could be replaced, not naming names, but with time I have changed my mind). Obviously anyone *can* be replaced. But, really, they each have their special talents and add so much to the group. I'm not just saying that to *not* offend anyone. I am saying that, in listening to them over and over, I really think they each carry their weight and equally add to the perfection of Pentatonix :)

You mentioned noticing how tall Scott is. He's about 6'3" or 6'4" (I've seen both measurements), which means he's nearly a foot taller than Kirstie, and about 1/2 foot taller than Mitch, the two members he's most often standing next to. Avi is just slightly taller than Mitch, whereas Matt and Kevin are both over 6' so the height difference isn't that much for them. While Mitch has sometimes worn platforms or elevators, Kirstie almost always wears footgear in concerts or videos that adds 5" - 6" to her height, to bring her up pretty close to Mitch and not quite as short compared to Scott. It's gotten to be something I look for in videos and concert footage - how high are Kirstie's shoes, and how the heck does she manage to move around a stage in those things?

You are very perceptive.. I think Scott IS the leader IF there is to be one, but doesn't act like one.. he has a very creative talent in many areas and is definitely responsible for there even being a Pentatonix.. they grew up together (Scott, Kirstin, and Mitch..) but he brought them back together in 2011 (all 19 yrs old) when he and Kirstin had already begun their 1st year of college (all in different states) .. Mitch was about to graduate High School back home in Texas. They got together to perform in a TV A Capella competition, but then they found out they had to have a minimum of 5 members, so they found Avi and Kevin (who was in med school at Yale) to join 2 days before the show started. They ended up winning the season! (SHORT version!)
