After years of being among the premier teams in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with "trophy hunting" and racking up big wins, Kaulig Racing has suddenly gone quiet. The swagger that made the team popular has all but disappeared.
It really feels like things have trended downward with some of the team's recent changes. First, Kaulig Racing replaced AJ Allmendinger in the NASCAR Cup Series with Daniel Hemric, a one-race winner in the Xfinity Series. That move has been a failure to this point, with Hemric struggling ever since he took over in that ride. To make matters worse, Allmendinger was told he was out of the ride AFTER winning at the Roval in last year's Cup Series playoffs.
And while Hemric is well-liked, he doesn't quite have the reputation to earn a seat in the Cup Series. Brad Gillie makes a passionate case that replacing Allmendinger with Hemric was simply a bad decision for Kaulig Racing, regardless of what their funding situation is on that team. #NASCAR #KauligRacing #AJAllmendinger
