Listening to this song forever 2024❤

I remember when this album came out. We were charged up for another book of songs like Born in the USA. I liked Tunnel of Love but it wasn't my favorite. It lacked the rock anthems that Bruce gave us in Darkness on the Edge of Town, Born to Run or Born in the USA. Now 30 plus years later, it's probably my favorite album as my life experiences have caught up with this album's content.

1988 my girlfriend leaved me. For another as I knew later. This song gave me hope and i found the girl i still love today....

End of the 1988 summer. I was a young girl of 20 years old, with a broken heart, working in a restaurant in the Costa Brava, Catalonia. Albert, a friend of the owners, came to he restaurant some evenings, and always put in the CD player Tunnel of Love, and this song in loop . I fell in love with the song immediately. I asked Albert the name of the song and who was the singer. And when I returned to my home, first thing that I did with the money I earned, was buy this album. I was my first contact with Bruce Springsteen. Bruce, if you are reading this, my only complaint is that you should play this song more in the concerts !!!!

I’m from West Texas and have a soft spot in my heart for Texas songwriters. Waylon, Willie, Kristofferson, Van Zandt, Steve Earle, Buddy Holly. I’ve never even been to the Northeast but Springsteen tells stories that touch my heart like he knows me. Not only knows me but knows every detail of my life. This guy is incredible. Waylon said that “if we all sounded like we wanted to, we’d all sound like George Jones.” Well, if we all could write like we wanted to, we’d all write like the boss.

This entire album is good.

I dedicated this song to my wife......and proved it......just celebrated our 21st anniversary.......Bruce has seen me through more shit than I care to remember....

Masterpiece of an album. Very very few albums put into genuine words and emotion, the nuance and shading of how a difficult relationship feels to a man.

This song stopped being simply a song for me along time ago. It resonates so deeply and touches on "grown up" feelings and emotions that it can never grow old, never lose meaning and never not stop you in your tracks. It's a song for the masses that means something different for every single one of us.

One of my most favorite songs by Bruce Springsteen!

Whenever my dad is driving in his car he plays a CD full of Bruce's songs. At first when I was little I found the songs slow and boring, but as the years went by I started to like them. Now I am 14 years old and it feels like with every year of my life I start to understand and like them even more. I'll make sure to show Bruce to my kids as well.

One of the greatest ballads ever made...in my opinion. A fantastic man, fantastic songwriter and an incredible human.
