I would guess they make these for about $2 and sell them for $200. That how they afford it. You probably have to pay the shipping on that warranty return and delivery. So it costs you $12-15 every time you replace it. I can buy at least 20 disks for that much. I don't see it outlasting 20 disks. It still wears, even if diamond.

FCP Euro has a lifetime warranty on every single car part they sell on their website. They’ve been in business many years.

Thiissss. It's really simple for those who don't know. You don't need to put pressure on the material. Just let the machine do the work and intermittently allow for some cool off time, don't keep it against the material (assuming steel) continuously. Last tip, wear your PPE, no matter the experience, it's not worth losing what you don't yet cherish. To comment on these thick blades: they're great until you really let it hook onto something or the blade fatigues. I would fear that blade much more than the thin and brittle compacted slicers.

For those that don't know, and being surrounded by crusty old dudes with shitty attitudes that aren't willing to teach the young guys, safety is a good choice.

Nah, a lot of the time yeah. But I've had lots of bad batch discs that explode as soon as you touch material or even when you start the grinder. You also have times when they bind up in tubes, thick steel or tight places because they flex from speed and light pressure. That being said if a normal disc binds up it will just shatter, if this one binds up it will more than likely jump out of your hand and come back on you then you're fkd....

I was gonna say, I work I a sheet metal shop and they use them all the time, I genuinely can't remember the last time I had one go on me or saw someone else's break. When they do go, they tend to just loose all momentum anyway, there is about 100 more dangerous activities we do in a daily.

The best thing about these diamond blades is the not shrinking. If I need to reach in to the limit of the disc to do a cut, I won't have to change out cutting discs four times a day or use a 9" grinder that trips your breaker.

I run a fabrication shop and i feel like this is it. Well, if they honestly just replace them when they wear out. And yes, unless this guy knows something these other abrasive cutting companies don't know about, it will 110% wear out. Right now i go through about a box of 50 each week. But hey, i can buy one for each welding bay and only have to buy them once. He will definitely be replacing them quite often.

Exactly, guy's story is total bullcrap. Grinders have a shield on them for a reason, and it's easily adjustable to make sure no sparks or pieces of the wheel hit you.

Not every company is a multi million dollar company it was a small job that I had to get back on my feet where I was paid under the table I did what I had to to get the job done. Believe me or not it really doesn't matter I still have the shirt with the cut collar from the grinder.

@@majormushu Yeah some grinders i have had to use in small shops havent even had the shield anymore, but thats more like when all the other grinders have been in use i have had to grab that one. Still worst injury i have had was just even though i was wearing protection piece flew to my eye, but wasnt that serious im not even sure how it happened, but maybe bounced somehow up, and under the eye protection. Then the worst injury with grinder i heard that happened in company i was working in was some guys wheel broke, and piece embedded in to his wrist not even that deep, but happened to nick the artery so he was bleeding heavily

I remember craftsman just bring it back and replace it. Later they gave repair kits. Then they had to order the repair kit. But still better than snap-on as they always say you voided the warranty when it broke.

Diamond dosnt cut steel, steel absorbs carbon and you end up just rubbing steel on steel. Diamond cuts non ferrous material like glass, plastic wood, even aluminum and copper, not steel.

I don't have any of these metal blades, but I bet that its the same as any other metal - if it gets hot you'll have blue marks. There's always some sort of weird stipulation in warranties for tools.

Haven’t used this one but used something very similar and I still prefer just normal cutting disc, they go through metal faster and idk how people blow up cutting disc so often as long as you put the blade on properly and cut at straight angle you’ll be fine.
