Thank you, I have very fond memories of Paris, when fresh out of college, I relocated from Weatherford TX to Paris, with JC Penney's management training program. We were on the square, then opened the new store out on the loop. Your tour brought back great recollections of the people and times. as a 5th generation Texan, I've enjoyed all your stories. keep it up, please.

I am a native Texan ashamed to say I haven't been home since 1988 unless I count a layover in Houston a few years ago LOL. I am planning a Southern States tour next year if coronavirus is under control. This is on my list of places to visit. thank you!

The race is pretty well attended. It was fun watching the bikers riding the route, I followed to watch my sister. She rides for fun, but not me. I have trouble walking.

I lived in the haunted mansion in the Historical district. 936 S Main. One of 6-8 homes that didn't burn down in the fire. I believe the building you thought was a hospital was a church. The man restoring it lives in the basement. He told me that the type of church was that it has a platform where someone different would stand and give a word every time they met on Sundays or Saturday. He told me it was like the church service that G Washington or B Franklin would attend. I miss that ole town. My house had 16 rooms, a rope pull elevator, a basement with a buried child's body and a fire place mantle that was hand carved the size of a wall. The family name on the original front entry way door still there when I left was Dean from England, some sort of aristocrats. Most people wouldn't stay in my home more than a few weeks. I lived there a 3+yrs, saw the ghost but he never harmed us. He was happy we were restoring him home.

I went in the old structure that he thought was a hospital. It was in fact a hospital. My mother and I searched for and retrieved medical records from my great grandmother. I can't remember what it was at the time of my visit, but it still smelled like a hospital. I was in middle school at the time.

The dome on top of the Methodist church is amazing! It's pretty cool that you caught a bicycle race on camera.:-)

Back when I was 19 years old - campaigning in that Congressional district - the Methodist Church caught my eye. It's my only vivid memory of Paris. For the next 40 years, I told anyone headed up that way to find it and take a walk around it. Still beautiful as ever ! 🌷

What a pretty little town. Kudos to those people and the state who preserve it. If you're in central Texas sometimes, do a vid of the heart of Texas marker between Brady, and Brownwood please.

My family owned a largely unimproved farm between Bogota and Clarksville about 1949 & 1950. After my first day of school in Bogota, I think 1950, several of us kids rode different school buses out to join our families picking cotton in the fields towards Paris. Living in the country without even electricity, I thought Bogota with its maybe 500 population was a huge city and was scared to death. Also there was a couple of red headed twin girls in my class who cried all morning which didn't inspire confidence. I was terrified and didn't know what bus to get on but luckily did get on the right one. Usually the adults would let us play in the cotton wagon for about thirty minutes before dark, then we would all ride back home in the back of an old truck. For working a week our families would stop at a little country store (named Rosily???) on Saturday when coming home and we could buy either a coke or a single dip ice cream. Fortunately those years made me into the person I am today. Most people in this world are wonderful and not radicals or exstremeist. Rosily (sp) was between Bogota & Clarksville.

Rosalie, on FM 909 between Bogata (I know, it's pronounced Bogota, but for some reason spelled B.o.g.a.t.a.) and Clarksville, not much left but the cemetery and a community center.

My family lived in Bovina, TX from 1953-1955, when we moved back to Georgia. I was six at the time. On our trip to Bovina from Georgia, we stopped to eat in Paris, Texas. It was probably one of the first times I had ever eaten out and, I'm almost positive, it was the first time I experienced air conditioning. I remember being very cold, the whole time we were eating. Across the street from the restaurant was (I believe) a motel and there was an airplane on the roof of the office! I think I drove my father nuts asking about how they got the airplane on the roof. I've often wondered if this was just a childhood made-up memory or that motel with the airplane on the roof really existed in Paris, Texas! Thanks for the walk down memory lane!

That's a nice look into Paris, I have distant relatives buried there, I'm sure. But not one human was seen walking down the street or visiting stores and shops. This place, like so many old Texas towns, is DEAD!

Paris is not a very nice place to live. Lots of crime. The town became very run down for years. Lots of meth labs there. Not safe to be out walking at night in many parts of town. McKees Family Restaurant is a good place to eat. Open 24 hrs a day. It’d be nice if you’d do one of Honey Grove 22 miles East. Of Paris on Hwy. 82. There’s a really nice old road side park with grills on Hwy 82 just west of the loop on Hwy. 82. I really enjoy your videos. I’ve been to/thru lots of the towns you visit.
