When François-Paul Journe, established the Manufacture in 1999, he implemented a strict policy of, “One watch, one watchmaker.”
.
Each watchmaker receives a kit of all the components required to assemble their timepiece. As a part of the assembly, each watchmaker carefully regulates all the components as they come together; their own unique project.
.
Seen here, a watchmaker is starting assembly of a Tourbillon Souverain. He begins by working on the tourbillon assembly itself, demanding his undivided attention. As small as the components are, they are also incredibly light and fragile; making the smallest microns of variances quite significant.
.
Once a timepiece is completed, its serial is recorded against the watchmaker’s name, who is responsible for it during its warranty period.
