Touring the Outer Hebrides, the Isle of Harris, Scotland - Part 5

This video is filmed in 4K and is part of a series touring the beautiful Outer Hebrides, Scotland in our little white motorhome.
Part 5 - In this Episode we leave Pairc Niseaboist Campsite and treat ourselves to a week's stay in an apartment with stunning views overlooking Luskentyre beach - you seriously do not want to miss this... what an amazing place! We continue to explore the Isle of Harris and make our way to the Hushinish region travelling along a twisty and very picturesque 14 mile single track road. The journey is worth the effort, it was a beautiful drive and we were treated to some spectacular rainbows!
PART 1 - we start our journey from Oban, taking the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry to Castlebay, Barra. Our first campsite is Borve Camping and Caravan site and it's from here we start to explore the Isles of Barra and Vatersay.
PART 2 - we move on to Scurrival Campsite, where we discover more beautiful beaches, the ancient Cille Bharra Church and of course the famous Barra Airport where we film the aircraft taking off and landing on the beach - a magical experience.
PART 3 - We take a ferry to the Isles of Uist, where we stay at two different campsites, Moorcroft Holidays and Balranald Campsite, plus a fantastic park-up next to an incredible beach on Berneray.
PART 4 - In this video we travel by ferry from Berneray to Leverburgh on the Isle of Harris, where we spend two nights at Pairc Niseaboist Campsite and explore the local area.
PART 6 - We move on to the Isle of Lewis before catching the ferry back to the mainland.

Thank you. That brought back lovely memories. On the approach to the castle gate I pulled in to take a photograph. When I set off I was at an angle and scraped my offside sill on the white stone on the ground. Oooops, oh dear. 18 months later and I still haven't got it repaired. ilona

Thanks for your comment. oh no...I know how you feel, we have just finished a six week holiday filming in the uk at one of our favourite places (coming soon...) and I managed to hit a very low wooden post in a car park...so annoyed! We hope you are enjoying the series.

This really is a lovely series of videos. I was up there in September last year with my brother and his two spaniels, travelling in a Landrover defender called Rita. Brilliant.

Just watched all 5 videos…. WOW…your drone footage is beautiful. I’m heading up there as a lone traveller with my dog in a camper last 2 weeks of April..any tips welcomed

Thank you for your lovely comments, they are really appreciated. So glad you are enjoying the series. One thing to be aware of is that virtually everything shuts on a Sunday....all shops, cafes etc. so make sure you have enough supplies to see you through. We found the local people to be warm and friendly and the islands felt safe and peaceful. I'm sure you will have an amazing time - there is so much natural beauty to see. However long you have it will never be enough! Just make wonderful memories and enjoy your trip.
