Treasure trove of anecdotes. The best interview in the Chai with Chitra series. Huge respect for Shri Mohanr Raman for his versatile body of work in both feature films & television, his keen observation of human nature & for imbibing & articulating various nuances from each great director and above all for documenting the history of Tamil cinema & his thought processes to undertake the same.

See let me tell you one thing. I’m today 26. I know English, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. Today by gods grace im in US. Inga Im able to manage because of Hindi. So many people over be it Pakistani or Bangladeshi or North Indians know Hindi. If I didn’t know this language I couldn’t have survived this long. Learn languages, Tamil mattum therinja onum panna mudiyathu. I hope someday you will learn a lesson.

@@4522372665 then how come Maran’s kids learn Hindi? Even A Raja’s daughter knows Hindi :) When DMK ministers or family members kids can learn , am sure someone like him can learn. Either DMK is only inciting Hindi hatred to keep them in power & ppl like u fall for it or it’s that knowing another language doesn’t mean you give up Tamil.
