does this mean that textures could be used in place of colors on the palette?

Only 2x2 textures. So technically yes, but practically no.

Hey, my colors aren't working anymore for some reason. No matter what I do in the files it just keeps the base color palette when I boot up the game

I just tested on my PC and it still works for me. The only thing I can think of is that your file name is not right. Make sure that your file is named "towncolor.png". If it is named something different, Townscaper will not recognize the file. The game will generate a fresh base pallette if you deleted the original. I always make sure to name the new file then delete the original. Not sure if that's what happened on your end. I hope it does help. Sorry for the late response! 😊😊
