@@mylesjohnson9166 anybody can, that’s just it. As Wayne Dyer would say, you choose whether or not you are in a good mood, you choose. Some people are happier than others “some people can handle anything Not because their circumstances are different, but as they react to their circumstances” it’s only bad if you want it to be bad. You can attach your break-away to your anhcor points via landyard with carabiner clip. Do NOT attach the breakaway to the gooseneck chain. That would be an Out of Service validation. Per DOT: Your breakaway must be attached to the power vehical. That being said, i'd just attach it to the anhcor points so u don't stress or if in tight turn have an acident and break the break away cable. Good luck man!

Alex, i ran into the same Problem, People, had brought a truck & Chassis, & then add the Bed on later, it is cheaper by 20k to 25 k, dollars, the ball and receiver, is in a different Place, because Chassis, do not a place for a bar underneath it. For me, i had to buy the parts, & they had to be Welded, or bolted to the Frame. So when you young you know everything, but when you get older, you get Wiser. The frame on a Chassis is smaller than a Standard Pickup or Super Duty. Take care Alex & Family. When buying a truck from somebody, that the way they make there money, buying a truck & chassis, then adding a Bed. Later CSE

Alex, whoever put those airbags on your truck either didn’t know what they were doing and/or used a kit where the person who designed it had NO clue what they were doing. They do-not go inward towards the axle pumpkin, mounting them this way causes center stress on the center of the axle and gives you less sway control. The airbags should be mounted directly between/underneath the frame and leaf spring, sitting on top the leaf spring and directly under the frame ( NOT off to the side as it is now ). Picture a 6 foot long 2” x4 “ piece of wood with two cinder blocks underneath each end of the wood, essentially making a bridge. With the wood acting as the axle and the cinder blocks acting as the wheels and you’re wanting to put 2, 50 pound bags on the piece of wood, putting both of them towards the center is putting stress on the middle of the wood versus putting each 50 pound bag towards the ends near the cinder blocks.

Did he say why the long bed was needed? I haul a gooseneck equipment trailer with a gvrw of 20k lbs with a short bed pickup with zero problems of hitting the cab during sharp turns. However I would not be able to haul a 5th wheel and make sharp turns. Due to cab clearance. I've never seen Alex haul a 5th wheel so I guess I don't understand the need for the long bed.

I have a good question. How can you run a 2020 F350 dually as non-cdl? From what the law says here in Montana, they add the GCWR of the F350 which is 14k plus the trailer GCWR of about 15k and you are now 29k, which would require a CDL. The cops here check your drivers door when they stop you and do the math. They said we can't pull a trailer legally with any newer dual rear wheel pickups without a CDL since they have raised the GCWR of the newer trucks so high.

What about the liability if you're ever in a wreck with a non oem frame and a modified hitch?

Obviously he doesn't care. A lifted, modified truck is more important it seems.

Was a long bed worth the issues? For a 5th wheel camper. I pull with a short bed. Never had a issue with a GN going forward. Nor backing up. I would have to go over 90 degrees to threaten my cab. Ball in front of rear axle. I think you bought with emotion, not business sense. It’s fairly common. Hope you didn’t expand holes much.

Question, did you put the side brackets on the frame to the gooseneck or you just have it attach to the bed rail?
@geriatricginger

there are no side brackets on this model truck. It bolts to the frame's cross-member, whereas, say, a 3rd gen bolts between the frame rails, thus, requiring side brackets.
