Giant red flag: nepotism arrangements. When the boss' wife/husband works in the office. Especially if they're not qualified for the role. Run far, far away and don't ever accept the job. Nothing good ever comes out of that. Or any form of nepotism really (friends, family members, etc). You, as the employee, will always be "wrong". Not to mention, if you have a legitimate complaint about a spouse, you can't exactly bring that up to the boss. Nepotism harms morale in the office.

I used to work at a super toxic workplace where my mentor refuses to teach me properly. Yet she would guide my teammate one to one until that teammate knows how to handle independently. I worked based on what I was taught and when I made mistakes all the mentor would do was to scold me loudly in office for everyone to listen. And whenever I ask questions I do not get answer as this mentor would always say "Read your emails as I have sent it a few days ago." They never say that to the teammate which was very demoralising as I can never get answers. So glad to be out of that place!

Wherever you work, it’s best to always understand and know what you are doing and abide by protocols, be honest and truthful when incidents occur, and focus objectively on underlying issues or problem solving whenever possible instead of finger pointing and blaming others. Set and maintain a high standard to garner respect from colleagues. If superiors or colleagues still constantly demand respect through fear and remain unappreciative over prolonged periods no matter how well you perform, it’s time to leave for greener pastures. A job is just a job, not your life, and colleagues are not your family members no matter how close they are to you.

@@Tony.L9793 Yes you definitely need to be careful with what you share with colleagues. But when it comes to reporting facts and figures, it’s best to avoid any cover-up or distortion for self-defense, cos you’ll never know if any unexpected turn of events might reveal the dirt swept under the carpet.

Colleagues are not friends, that's why they are call colleague and not friend. Sometimes whistle blowing and call for help is perceived as incompetent and weak even though it's the matter of poor management from managers and senior management. Understaffed and demanding, these people would just exploit others for their own benefits at work and work you to death. That's why you don't see employees talk about loyalty in the modern workforce, loyalty is for brainwashing and manipulation in a company.

There are supervisors like, "you have to follow my way", "listen what I say", "I have been doing this for years, I have experience, what instructions given, just do!", behind my back asking other colleagues, " can this new guy be trusted?", "everything need report." And finally, "who are you to make decisions and overwrite?" For me, I leave immediately. Especially the "new guy" part. Damn, I have my work style, and I know what ways I work better. 🙏 Thank You So Much for this opportunity to let other knows that , they are not the only one being bullied or backstabbed in a toxic working environment! Red Flag 🇦🇱 when Good Managers , Supervisors or Good Colleagues are slowly being replaced by KPI worshipping new ones or the Rotten Old Ones are still around to run the Dept like it's theirs than a Dept run by Team Members! It is sad , we normally lost the Good Ones but the Rotten Ones still remained! But many who had left luckily do fine Better Jobs & became more appreciative to nurture Good Working environment & be a Better Person learnt from their bitter working experiences! Not to be mean here , but found out many of those evil ones eventually being fired , forced to retired early , their marriage broken up , got into troubles with the Laws or they died from illnesses! We reap what we sow , sooner or later! Karma is Real! 🙏🕯🌏✌🕊

Wrong. Fight back. Otherwise nothing will change, and other companies will get the wrong message and become bad like this. No company is entitled to exist. No nation no culture has a right to exist. People are forced into the world without their consent. Therefore they are justified in overthrowing the pre-existing country, status quo, and making new laws: laws banning companies that act unfairly, that do not strictly reward truth and honesty and hard work proportional to that work.

I've been putting off seeing a therapist for a long time because I am not actively depressed or suicidal or anxious, I just have thoughts that I really wish I could talk about with someone or get some advice for so this video has kind of motivated me a little to seek help/therapy or find someone I can talk to. Limiting exposure to stress through activities such as exercise and spending time in nature is essential to break this cycle. It’s also best to avoid negative messages and sensationalized news that provoke these anxious thoughts. Additionally, incorporating adaptogens into our diet, such as vitamin B1 and ashwagandha, helps to strengthen our ability to cope with daily stress.

Toxic is when your immediate supervisor gave your job to a foreign person located out of Singapore, and replace your job, and you are the last person who know about it. Best part is, they retrench you right after your annual vacation, and pay you zero despite years of service with the company. MOM stated retrenchment benefit is under the discretion of employer and there's nothing you can do about it legalky. Well-done MOM policy which is so outdated.

There’s a lot toxic workplaces in Singapore as a single person. Now imagine the amount of discrimination working parents would face when they have insufficient parental and childcare leaves. Take any unpaid or MCs to cover that shortfall and you’ll be providing the perfect opportunity to be graded as a “low performer” by managers and be given the PIP letter. Basically Constructive dismissal…

i run a business. i paid 2 people literally almost half of my earnings, raised their pay and bought them gifts, even scolded by 1 of them only for them to turn out lazy and entitled. One of them is literally replying emails part time while earning thousands a month. I've only been nothing but nice and kind to them but in the end this is what i get. This is why as a boss now i want to become demanding. When you treat people too well, this is how people treat you instead. It's not the boss' fault all the time. Maybe some of them like me have tried the nice way only for it to backfire

When management is not competent , the only way is to use unethical tactics, gaslighting, blaming, intimidation, manipulation, passive aggressive, lies, ridicule, disrespect, bullying. These management continue to stay, but the staff experience a high turnover. If you go against them, the management uses bad work performance appraisal, heavy work load, unfair work load to force you to leave. The unfortunate thing is all the employers will believe the employers not the victimised employee. That's why nowadays it's almost mandatory to suck up to your boss to survive.
