An Informational video on the emissions components of the 22RE engine and what they do as well as the EGR delete descriptions. There is a whole lot of emissions equipment for a questionable outcome.

I still think your neighbor on the other side of that fence, tells everyone she knows that her crazy neighbor stands in his backyard everyday and talks to himself, but we love it. Keep up the good job making your videos. TP

As I understand it, emission tests are factored into what is known as a "fleet rating" meaning it's multiplied over thousands of vehicles to arrive at a total %. So, the amount you may notice if at all will most likely be insufficient.

I can't tell you how many hours I spent on the emissions system on my old YJ. If I had seen this before getting into that mess I would likely deleted it all too. My only concern would be the catalytic converter fouling up. It seems like a hotter cat would be a happier cat. Rock on David!
@RedneckGarage3 жыл бұрын
I think that would be correct - the hotter the better lol

@@freemaysin5088 No doubt...I could have done it on my YJ since it was a '90, but should have started off that way before getting invested in the parts and time. Would have run a lot better too.

@@melodicdreamer72 alot of people have stuff to say about it, and it MAY not be the most economical choice, but i have a catch can with a breather filter on it and it collects alot of blowby, and i very very rarely have visible exhaust gas.

Thank you for all the info, may i ask why LCE sux? lol i have a 1989 that ive had and not done anything to it yet, they were on my list of vendors to try, do you have any other vendors that you reccomend ?

I like your vid but Can you go thru the vac lines? Mine is a 22r carbie deleted egr and the exhaust injection cause they were causing issues at idle some time would run just fine some times would just die at lights

My concern about EGR removal. When an EGR valve or solenoid is not working it creates a spark knock in the engine. This has been my experience with 2.2 GM Multi port fuel injection engines. Not sure if yours will have the same result.

We shall see - from my research that is not a problem with the 22re

I have a 1980 in CA and have to pass smog, so I need all parts in place every two years. I plan on simply cutting out a thin piece of sheet metal to stop the flow of exhaust through the EGR to protect it so it's in good shape when I do need smog. As I'm typing this it occurs to me that I only really need to loosen the egr and slip a blocking sheet, tighten it back up and leave everything else alone. Any thoughts? I have a hybrid 22r block and 20R head and I somehow managed to pass smog every year since 1989... with all the EGR leak headaches of course. My EGRs are past end-of-life so I need to preserve them.
@RedneckGarage Жыл бұрын
That should work fine as long as they arent that strict on smog tests.

The EGR reintroduces exhaust gas to lower combustion temps so less NOx is produced.

As someone who rebuilt my 22re I can attest that it's not totally useless, the EGR REALLY fouls up your intake plenum and manifold and the argument could be made it reduces the life of the motor

Actually I had forgotten. They reached out and said they appreciated me showcasing their products. They said "Contact us for a discount on your next order ". I did that and called on the phone ad the dude was pretty rude and finally said well I guess we can give you a 5% discount and told me the guy that contacted me was "busy". After placing the order, the 2 days later they advertised 10% off everything in the store - which made me mad as they sure could have give me at least the sale price. Their products are outstanding I would say. It wasn't worth my time calling back and asking for the additional 5%.
