Very well done. I've watched several of these videos about this exact topic, you covered this very well, mine is a carburated model, and we're going with a new Weber and perhaps an intake as well. Any thoughts about better intakes, versus stock? Thanks, Jim
@archaicautomotive24442 жыл бұрын
Thank you Jim! My other truck seen in the other video is an 87 4x4 22R with a Weber carb. As for manifolds go I hear the offenhauser is a better flowing manifold due to the runner design. You can find it on LC engineering's website. Also if you have a 4x4 truck and you do offroad the Weber does not like real steep angles and will bog down you can correct this by doing the "Hill climb mod" I'm pretty sure you can find a write-up on Google still.

nice ! i'm new one, 2 questions: Where does fresh air enter the cylinder? I live in California and must have EGR, right? thank you !
@archaicautomotive24442 жыл бұрын
Yes if your truck is a California model you should have an EGR. Also fresh air comes from the air pump underneath the intake manifold. It injects fresh air into the exhaust ports through those large metal lines that wrap around the back of the engine.

You have to put a resistor into the EGR connector to trick it. 10k ohm I believe.
@Farrell_instinctsАй бұрын
I plan on doing this with my vehicle, but doesn't this cause it to run lean? Like the O2 sensor is used to getting that much extra air, when it stops getting it doesn't it make it go rich?
@archaicautomotive2444Ай бұрын
No as far as know The computer will just adjust mixture accordingly. All the air injection/ egr system does is make the burn a little cleaner by injecting a little fresh air into the cylinders for cleaner burn.

Question what did you do with the hardness that comes off the egr ? And what about the hoses that come off the power steering??
@archaicautomotive24442 жыл бұрын
Mine does not have power steering but when hose should connect directly to the manifold and the other should connect to the idle adjuster in the center of the manifold. As for the EGR I just taped off the connector but to prevent check engine light you want to put a resistor in place.
