Episode 11 of maintenance you can do yourself at home.
This one is super easy and straightforward.
My simple and easy way to perform this task.
14 Oz. Moly-Graph® Lithium Grease

I personally lube both front and rear
Shafts/U-Joints once a year.
Small additional notes to my instructions in the video:
“In order for the rear shaft to move the wheels have to be off the ground.
A good compromise for the rear shaft, is to see where the grease fittings are and move the car untill they are a bit more accessible. The from will move as long as you’re not in 4high.”
Show us your support by liking and sharing this video!
Until next time, I hope your having a great day!
Thank you for watching!

Thank you for making these types of videos. When I asked the Toyota dealer to grease my 4Runner, they first tried to say that there are no grease fittings on new vehicles. I then showed them that the 4Runner has 6 grease fittings and they told me that their techs don't have grease guns. At that point I lost all confidence and ended up doing it myself. Your videos are very helpful. After watching you show how easy it is to change the differential fluids and transfer case fluids, I did that myself also and save about $700. So again, thank you.

I agree. I asked my dealership about it and they didn't know what that service was. It wasn't in their computer. They had to talk to a Master Toyota Mechanic and the answer came back to charge 1.5 hrs The manual says to retorgue the propel shaft when you grease it. How do you do that?

also just a heads up all 3 zerks will be on the same side of the driveshaft if that makes sense. i ground down the tip of my grease gun so it fit in there easier. i do 1-2 pumps on the slip shaft every other oil change (@10k miles) as damage can occur if over greased, the u joints get enough grease until you see it come out. i use the same grease for both the slip shaft and the joints even though the manual says they are different. bought it new, now at 90k miles with no issues

The drive shaft greasing is so important. I had the 2nd Gen Tacoma- when it was new, it had drive train vibration at certain RPM. They actually had a TSB for the issue- however what fixed it was simply greasing the propeller shaft fittings once a year, and eventually every other year. Vibration disappeared and never came back.
