This video shows you have to removed the radio in your 5th gen 4Runner. I hope this video was helpful for you. It is very easy to remove your entune head unit. Basically 5 steps.
1. Remove lower AC covers.
2. Remove AC controller and unplug.
3. Remove 4 10mm bolts
4. Wiggle Head Unit forward.
5. Unplug all connectors.

Hey Jon, I got one of these units with the black trim myself and did some research and learned that Dupli -Color BUN0090, Universal Black Metallic, is a great match to the existing trim color on both the TRD Pro and TRD Off Road packages. Looking forward to your video series on this unit.

I’m going to use your advice in this video to remove the center unit because I need to replace one of the middle vents above the stereo. Do those vents just slide in and out easily once the head unit is removed? Or are there more tricks to getting the vents in and out of that entire unit? Thanks for any help you can provide.

I wish you could have continued the video to show the full assembly and installation of the T8/T9 head unit. Trying to decide if I should make the purchase or not and while I am sure I could figure most of it out, it is helpful and reassuring to have a video showing the entire process and all

Jon, I got a stupid, but somewhat important question. Isn’t the front channel factory wiring in the 5th Gen 4Runner’s wired in parallel. The factory speakers along with most aftermarket speakers are 4 ohm. You wire a couple 4 ohm speakers in parallel, you are going to get a 2 ohm load. Don’t most aftermarket speakers require nothing less than a 4 ohm load? That would overheat or ruin the head unit right? I’m definitely missing something here. Can you explain?
