A lot of people don’t realize this tool uses software very similar to Toyota techstream. It’s very capable for the price when strictly working on Toyota products.

Any exploration in the TPMS as far as pushing new serial numbers to the ECM if you have winter tires, or replace old ones with new? Not scanning sensors, but if you know the serial number and can enter them somewhere, then push the relearn? THANKS!!!

I know right? Why so hard to figure this out with scam tools? Some do read them but require an active subscription to see it. Who wants to pay a reoccurring fee for a tool to sit on a shelf? I've been searching and searching. So far this and the foxwell are catching my eye as possibilities but not sure about either 100%.

Can you also configurate the speedometer in case of the bigger tires on your RAV4?

No, you can not use this scan tool to calibrate the speedometer for a different tire size.

Yes, you should be able to program a new key with this scan tool.

I bought some OEM H chip keys from ebay (The Car Key Guys) and programmed them easily with the Creader. My vehicle is 2014 Corolla. Once programmed you can get keys cut anywhere. Careful buying keys from Amazon, I had to return them, not recognized by my Corolla. To program new keys, look for immobilizer section, select key registration and follow the screen instructions.

Would you recommend buying a cheap universal one when going used car shopping? If it's useful that way, what's the cheapest option?

If you're shopping for a newer Toyota or Lexus, 2006 and up, the Launch X431 is great because it can scan everything. amzn.to/3OejJuW They also have a Honda version. The Launch CRP123X works on all vehicles and scans OBD2, ABS, and airbag systems. It's not all systems scanner. amzn.to/49l0191 The YA201 scans only OBD2 codes. You can see why the check engine light is on but it won't scan anything else. amzn.to/4bjcLPh This is fine if you're shopping for a car older than 2006.

Actually, the cheap scanner is my recommendation for older cars. If you need to fix something other than a check engine light, like ABS or airbags, you need the fancy scanner.

@@LabCoatPaul ABS on these old things? Fwahahha. My 98 rav4 has no such device. I tell you what, though. I try to have fun with it by drifting in the snow and whatnot but these little buggies are so well made that despite not having traction control its damn near impossible to lose control of it. Amazing little cars.

@@McAdamsMechanics ABS was optional on the first generation RAV4. It goes in the right front corner, behind the headlight and makes it hard to work on the timing belt. I agree. This little car can go anywhere. I was never even close to getting it stuck off road.

@@LabCoatPaul yep. And mine is only a FWD. I cant imagine how much safer the AWD are unless they get into a crash at 5mph in which case death is certain.
