This car is less responsive on stop start city driving. But you will enjoy it on a freeway that feels like driving a 2.5l engine. I tried driving it at kangaroo valley. The handling and stability was enjoyable on steep curve. I was surprised of the power it had doing a steep climb. The engine is not noisy on freeway and mountain during acceleration. All you can hear is a whistling sound of turbo. Nice comfortable car to drive.

Thanks again for another great review . Very impressed with your site . I have a 2008 Corolla hatch for work use and a 2009 IS 250 Lexus and really love the simplicity and ease of ownership with Toyota . Have been looking at the C H R as a replacement for both and this has helped . Thank you . Keep up the great Reviews .

until now.. the look was aggressive and sporty, but the engine was for senior citizens.. barely shy of 12s for 0-60mph.. it was a bad joke.. Now the 2.0l hybrid has enough power to back up the looks.. its 8.2s for 0-60mph, thats perfect for normal people....

Yep. We are hoping the 2.0L hybrid is released in Australia - sounds like a great package!

Why can't the US get an updated C-HR, it's a great hatchback.

If the US could get a beefier engine and AWD, I jump on it. It is fun and feels good, just underpowered compared to the competition in the US.

UK get the best versions... 2020 facelift model now comes with the option of a brand new 'Dynamic Force' 2.0L Hybrid engine - *184bhp* . I've just recently picked up the limited "Orange Edition" model - it certainly looks like 🔥 Especially at night! This car really feels great, and the chassis can more than handle this new increased power, but they've further improved the suspension and wind noise to cushion the increased weight and reduce noise at high speed. The new 2.0L engine sounds far less tinny than the 1.8L. And the bigger Battery & more powerful electric Motors accompanied give much more torque low down in the acceleration! It's a lovely car. Shame about the other markers though 😕

Wait for the GR Corolla arrive then have C-HR 1.2 L4 turbo intercooler into a Corolla replacing the dated 2.0 will make Corollas interestingly sporty and make GR C-HR happen.
