Solved my p1693 code. Luckily, i was worried id have to replace the vvtl solenoid. Lift bolts are brand new so that wasnt the case

This is the for the lift ocv correct? Like if I’m having trouble hitting lift this is a possible fix when replacing lift bolts don’t work?

Yeah that's correct, does your engine light come on when you try and rev over 6k where lift should kick in? If so get a code reader, check to see what it says, if it refers to the ocv then this is the solution.

i have same code but it comes up as a oil control valve circuit malfunction, says the valve is stuck closed. curious to if just cleaning this filter will fix the code

@@teddybarx i ended up getting it fixed, oil control valve filter was so dirty it was holding oil in like a cup. i cleaned that out and also replaced the oil pressure switch and i got lift back.

@@teddybarx yes, it screws in to the housing that holds the oil control valve filter

I have the same code, although my new GT was stored for close to two years I doubt it had a proper service, you would most likely need an oil change, as well as doing this.
