Bro I’m crying this design didn’t make it to the production line

I kid you not, i am that kid at the beginning of the video. I'm on my dad's shoulders, and it was one of the most magical days of my life. I used to go to that show, every, single, weekend. It was less than 15 minutes from my apartment in Foothill Ranch. I get so many memories flooding whenever i see this video. I remember my dad told me, "This is the only time you will ever see this car." I didnt believe him, so i told him, "Wont we see this car when it finally gets made?" He told me, "No, it will be different, just you wait." I didn't believe him, until the GR Supra came out in 2019. I thought, " He was right." Boy, this is hands down one of the most special days of my life. If you need proof that i remember this day, i was wearing an Oakland A's hat (because that was my favorite baseball team) and I was wearing an Illist sweatshirt. I cant remember if it had a Giraffe or a Hakosuka, but i remember this day. We drove in a 1970 4door Bamboo tan Datsun 510 which we still own to this day. I know this is 9 years too late, but sorry for getting in your video so much 😅 My dad had the beard, was in camo cargo shorts, and had a DSPORT shirt, and I was that little kid. I loved this car as soon as I saw it because I watched Initial D with my dad, and I fell in love with JDM cars, and I still do to this day.

If this was the new Supra, it would be insane! It would be a true successor to the Supra!

This is the Supra that would have competed with the GT-R and European exotics. A shame they didn't engineer it to this level.

Toyota hyped the world when they showed us this thing, then the world came crumbling down after we got shown the real production "Supra". What a dang shame. They literally ruined the marketing for the Supra with false hopes.

It's amazing how much of this car we DID get in the produced version to be honest... Alot of thd lines and body language are still there... Wish they left the integrated spoiler though

I kid you not, as of January 2024 I saw some pictures online of this car and thought that it would come out as a successor of the new "Supra" that they released. Turns out it's from 10 years ago!?!? This thing was truly ahead of it's time when it comes to design! Such a shame that we got a BMW instead of this..

They should’ve kept this as its own thing (FT-1) instead of calling it a Supra. Should’ve just made something more similar to the mk4 to call it a “Supra”.

It's a CONCEPT car people, meaning that it can and will change based on feedback from designers, the general public, enthusiasts, etc. Even the name "FT1" is part of the concept and can also change. They're bringing the car to trade shows, and "some" car meets like the one in this video to see what the public thinks. They will then redesign or modify closer to a production model based on the information they gather.

They are very smart. Made FT-1 to bring up the hype and sell the new supra version. Because clearly if they released this car the cost will be more than the supra we currently have.

Imagine the original Fast and Furious but with this Supra modified similar to the orange Supra from the original Fast and Furious.

Toyota should have just let Lexus build a straight 6 engine and an 8 speed twin clutch transmission for the new Supra in stead of BMW.

Yes it wouldve been nice if this was the new supra. But it would probably cost close to $200,000. I respect the 2020 Supra for being $50,000 and still catching the essence of the FT-1.

The difference between the FT-1 and the Supra is that people like the FT-1.
