NOTE: Since recording I have found out the the Yaris GR Convenience Pack No longer has Heated Seats!!
......and yes I know I keep saying Yaris GR instead of GR Yaris. I’ll get it right when I have one for review.
Hey there everyone and welcome to the UK launch of the all-new Toyota Yaris GR!!
Very rarely does a car come along with such anticipation and hype!!
The GR brand may not be hugely established in the UK and Europe but in Japan and the motorsport world, those 2 little letters mean business, Whether in NASCAR, Le Man and especially WRC!
Now we got a hint of GR with the GRMN Yaris which was a hoot to drive, if a little flawed.
Roll ops to 2020 and we have something truly special from Toyota. A true homologation!!
Enjoy the video and before you say anything, yes I have added b-roll footage to show the outside of the GR.

My first love, when it comes to cars, is a small car with real power and a great chassis. Toyota were so go at this in the PST. It’s great to see them returning to their roots. Well done Mr Toyoda.

Excellent review, an agile and stable machine that Yaris GR: driver, completely unfazed by that toppled wheelbarrow in the middle of the road (at 14:47)

Great Video, ur realy impressed... i like it. I`m from Germany, and i have ordered one with the Circiut Pack, in germany it`s the "High Performance Paket". It will be delivered in two weeks, and i can`t wait for it.

Great review as always, Hats off to Toyota for building such a car when so many other manufacturers are deciding for us that "a 5 door hatch will do"....This IS the car petrol heads have been waiting for..

They've already said production isn't limited and will make as many as there is demand. They need to in order to make profit on it too

Now I know what will be my wife's next car. My M6 G192, as I'll drive this one little beast insted :-) Only shame is that you can't get the limited slip differential together with convenience pack. That would be awesome for a daily sleeper :-)

The ZS is coming. Been incredibly lucky to have gone on a few drive days with BMW, Bentley and Toyota which has added to the work load. Don’t worry. The reviews are coming.

Interesting...it is about the same price as a Honda Cvic Type R. Is the Nurburgring lap time available? Many spy shots prior launch showed on the Ring. Does it beat the TypeR?

It’s a tough one, classic status really takes 15 years plus. Looking at the rate that countries are implementing ICE new car sale bans is there really any other outcome during this timeframe other than existing emitting cars will be insured, registered and taxed off the road. Hope I’m wrong.

lol that what will probably make it a classic. The fact almost every tom, dick and Harry will buy an electric. Some people will be seeking out new imports till they ban it and used ICE cars.

@@peejayem4700 I don't think you're wrong. As long as all the idiots in the West voting for all that totally eco socialists the ban comes. For example Spain bans New ICE cars at 2030 and at 2040 also used cars. I don't know which country it was in Europe but there is a country which plans to ban gas stations at 2035. When the EU releases the Euro 7 regulation at 2025 it will be very challenging to sell Ice cars... And many young people(idiots) up to 35 are happy with banning ICE cars. They don't want emotional cars and obviously they like unemployed people... Many of them... So maybe a solution will be to transform the classic cars to EVs by replacing the engine by an electric engine and place a big battery in the rear...

Toyota are offering good discounts off RRP and supply isn't particularly limited - 1750 to UK by end of 2021, possibly more if demand dictates (non limited VWs have sold in fewer number). Yes people love it but it will be interesting to see how this reflects in used values in the longer term

This is for enthusiasts, they will realize what they are getting for their money. How many cars can you buy from factory for this price that comes with aluminum doors, hatch, bonnet, real carbon roof, two piece slotted rotors (bigger than the Supra) with fixed calipers, AWD with LSDs front and rear, much of it assembled by hand on the same line that made the LFA, extra spot welds and structural adhesive for additional rigidity. There are tuners who will take a stock car, take it apart and add spot welds, no need here. Engine internals are also tweaked for performance. 34 MPG? Thats great for a performance car! Toyota isn't really aiming to make a lot of money on these, like most halo cars. Really this is Toyota's halo car, not the Supra.

@@AutoBears I am looking forward to seeing you squeeze yourself in! I think it's the main reason I never even thought about putting an order in for this. In Australia they had I think 1000 of the base model (no Torsen diffs etc) for A$40000, where the full fat model they're projecting $55K. Not bad at all but I think of it as a two seater like the BR86, and I think that's a better buy, very moddable. Will never replace my Clio IV which has three usable seats in the rear.

We get trucks, SUVs and "crossovers", I'm so sad. We might get a bloated Corolla hatch with the drivetrain. I bet they'd sell out initial allotment if they did bring the GR Yaris. Prob end up being like a lot of the cult classics and be round for only a couple years. Damn Toyota, give it to us! There already are LHD models. I guess all the darn gov regulations to meet. I'm not going to be around driving in 25 years when it might be able to import them!

Because SUVs are for people who dont like cars, and the effort of the Yaris is because come from the rally car version of the Yaris. The CHR has rally version?

This car was specifically developed for racing. Mr. Akio Toyoda's project to make a winning race car. It's pretty special that we get to see this as a production car available for the public to purchase, you really don't see much of this. Do a web search on Morizou, that is the president of Toyota's alias when he's racing. Yes, the president of Toyota races and is a gear head.
