I have a CX5 Carbon Turbo. I know for the fact these things have issues with the front camera sensors. In 2 scenerios I tend to always get a alert (which turns off my automatic lane/distance keeping assist) 1. Driving in a blizzard 2. Driving during the morning whenever the sun is just mostly fully crested over the horizon where it's blinding you through your windshield, if you're going up a 10% grade, your sensor will mess up.

Mazda has been getting better in North America these past couple of years. The biggest issue used to be paint and undercoating problems. I had a 2008 Mazda 3. Nice car but the paint around the rear fenders started to flake off and rust and rust started to form on the trunk two years after I bought it . The paint issues were common on Mazda in the 2000's and early 2010s. Apparently they were undercoat properly.

All are combined city and highway averages. In my opinion, that is great mileage for vehicles of their size and capability. Certainly better than I got from similar naturally aspirated vehicles in the past, many of which had less power.

There are lots of good car plants in North America. But they are dominated by Toyota, Honda and Subaru. It's those manufacturers that hire good engineers and a dedicated production workers. The Japanese plants in North America seem to have that. Ford, GM and Chrysler have been at war with their employees since at least the 1950s. But I agree with Scottie...maybe the Japanese productions lines produce better vehicles. The Cambridge Ontario Toyota plant you mentioned consistently is one of the top plants in North America.

When you take the key out of the ignition, all lights shut off. My light switch is always on and has been since 2019 when I bought it. 1. Mazda CX 5 all wheel drive, made in japan . 25k miles, skyactive turbo system, 6 speed automatic transmission, practical, sporty. Electric parking brake, sunroof. 3.5 liter engine. 2. Subaru Crosstrek 64k miles, 4 cylinder engine, ( avoid 6 cylinder) all wheel drive, made in Japan, 24k brand new, Chang oil regularly every 5 k miles. Use siliconized glue instead of gaskets so keep oil fresh and clean. Replace the glue with aftermarket gaskets once glue worn out. Mechanical emergency brake ( better than electronic one) . Electronic brake stop working when batter is dead or electronics break down. But has no warning buzzer if headlights is off. When battery is off, computerdoesnot eork and has to be reset. Roomy, 3. LEXUS ICS 250, 143k miles, allwheel drive, compact luxury sportscar . Year 2008 made in japan. $6k US. Dashes and doors can be replaced by Lexus free.

Just went with someone to help them buy a new car. I told them about a Mazda cx-5 because they wanted a midsized suv. They listed to me and got a fully loaded top of the line cx-5 for $20k. It was a $50k car new and honestly I drive a lexus and this thing drives a lot like my lexus and I'm so amazed. I bought my lexus because of Scotty and my friend got a cx-5 because of Scotty. LISTEN TO SCOTTY! You won't be disappointed!!!

Scotty I need some advice. I am looking to get a newer car. I really want a three row. I would like a Highlander but their so expensive. It would really be a stretch because the payment would almost be as much as my mortgage. Would you recommend a 2011-2015 Honda Pilot? I like the look of them and their very spacious. I found one online thats got around 120,000 miles and its $10,000. I am hoping to not have to but another car for at least ten years. What would you recommend?

Hmm. Even my old '09 Impreza 5 speed manual turns the headlights off if you leave them on at the light switch and switch off the car. They changed that on the new ones? The only way I can allow headlights to run down the battery is to shut the car off and then switch the headlights on manually and walk away.

Hey Scotty, just so you know, my daughter's 2014 Mazda 3 is made in Mexico, and we have never had a lick of trouble with it. It has 200 000 on the clock, and still starts and drives like new. So, maybe you need to ask other owners what they think.

Mazdas have generally been decent cars. You can usually get a used one a little cheaper than a Toyota or Honda and still expect above average reliability. The only thing was that you had to kind of avoid a few of their automatic transmissions. Most of their automatics have been good but there are a handful of them that you want to stay away from especially when you got to 100,000 miles.
