Amazing. And the single turbo version still only makes the same torque/power as every 2.0 diesel on the market...... yet they still throw rods.

Admittedly the rods on the 8 cylinder have a smaller piston to throw up and down and the power developed is shared over 8 cylinders not 4 and it’s a shorter stroke, horses for courses…

What's your theory on why the conrod failed on that particular 1VD? Could it be the result of bad aftermarket tuning?

if 1kd had really strong forged pistons with better heat displacement they would be amazing. they are good but have flaws.

Please stop,the madness over efficiency. Picking up a mpg here or there is just ridiculous when the engines last half as long

this would probably be a reliable engine with aftermarket forged rods
