Nice video. Others did cover the few issues you can run into. Main difference between a 1st gen and 2nd gen is that the 2nd gen is an IFRS(independent front and rear suspension) and the 1st gens come with a solid axle in the rear! Big difference for off-road capabilities in my opinion.

A nice review coming from a Sequoia owner myself. :) I appreciate seeing that $12k sticker on a 2003, they really hold value especially the 4WD ones. In 2005 there was a minor refresh to design, a Luxury package was offered, side impact airbags offered, and the 5 speed transmission was introduced. Those 3rd gen Tacoma rims look great on it! I was also looking at 5th gen 4Runner Limited rims to put on for an updated look.

I'm switching jobs because of COVID-19. I'll need a SUV or truck. I've decided that this 1st gen would be an affordable choice for around 5k. I like the 2nd gen more but it's almost 2x as much. I could get a lot of other SUVs for the price but I want something I can use for trailering and toy hauling, and something that not under powered like a 4 runner. This has more room as well. Thanks for the video!

These are good SUVs, but are terribly inefficient, and the starter is in such a bad location. If you use it everyday for 25 / 30 miles trip you will need to fill it up once every 1 week, and if the vehicle is being used all 7 days it will take $65 / $70 to fill it up, at least where i live, and the gas is not that expensive (yet). In a month you will spend $286 just on gas because of how inefficient this is, and in a year, supposing that you use it all 7 days non stop, you will spend $3,380 on gas only, there is really no justification to buy this vehicle, even if you have a big family, there are others more efficient and with more space like the Sienna.

Ask if the timing belt has been changed recently (its due based on that milage), check that rear latch functions properly, plug in an OBDII code reader to see if there are any codes/stored codes.
