It works mechanically similar. The electric motor is cranking the gasoline engine

I remember when this video was posted. I was 14 back then. I was once a Peugeot fan and as many Peugeot fans I became a Toyota fan in 2012. Today Toyota has lost Le Mans once again and I'm gutted, once again. Seeing this reminds me of how fast the last five years passed. But passion stays. And hope for a Toyota win gets ever stronger every year. Only motorsport can bring stories like that. I'm telling my life story but when you follow a project from its very begginning you can only feel concerned when the team you support is cursed. I want to see them winning Le Mans one day. I'm sure they will do it, we will do it. Go Toyota. Road to Le Mans 2018

Oddly enough… toyota DOES have something like this but its powering their current gen Century. 5.0 NA V8 hybrid. So yeah, leaning towards luxury n comfort instead of rabid power n noise. Catback n equal length headers to that century’s V8, retune n beef it up.. Can u imagine the stupified faces of onlookers when a Century is cruising by in silent electric mode and suddenly that V8 turns over?

Love how the initial whirr ramps up in pitch before the combustion engine kicks on. I’d hate to be the guy servicing the electric battery though; if a Prius can electrocute you, this thing must have the output of a small power station!
