Күн бұрынThis is my daily driver. It’s roomy and comfortable. I can fit my whole family. Smooth engine and transmission make it a very well rounded vehicle. It’s so popular in Malaysia that you can’t get out of the house without spotting another Wish on the road.

I own a Wish, it's 10/10 for practicality but handling and power are not its strengths. It's size makes it heavy and sluggish, and not the easiest thing to back. The best thing about it is the reliability. Mine has done over 200,000km and the only thing that has needed replacement is a starter motor. It is showing it's age now, with the seals starting to leak a small amount of oil. However, as it was purchased to move the family and their gear it's done it's job admirably and has lasted until our eldest is no longer reliant on the parents for transport. They're still popular so even my 20 year old model has good resale value vs the initial purchase price. I'd recommend the Toyota people mover range (the Wish has been discontinued and the Sienta is the replacement.) I drove the Sienta as a rental in Japan, as it had electric sliding doors on both sides so it had better access to the back row and the extra weight didn't make it too difficult to handle.

I have been driving 2 Toyota Wish, the 04/09 for 9 years, and now the 13/18. They are fuel economical, reliable and comfortable. Single blower, no issue, third row passengers normally are kids, they just enjoy the night scene!😁

Yep. I was surprised to discover that after I bought. It’s cheap to run. Another thing is, it doesn’t drive like an old car. Everything is solid. It feels like a brand new car.

@@lucabrasi2130 full is 60 litres and it can go 750km driven in the city with light traffic. On average it’s about 1L = 13km. I did this test for a few months. I filled it full and drove to work then recorded the km and the liters used.

Yeah that’s the biggest let down for me too. I love driving the car and it’s one of the best in handling but I hate that cheap design.

Hahaha yes, I had used Avanza before and changed to this Wish, they didn’t enjoy looking thru the windows. They kind of got used to now. I prefer driving Wish to Avanza.

@@sezaboy2940 Hi. Toyota Isis is powered by the same engine 2ZR-FAE and the same CVT Transmission. They both shouldn’t be very different but the Isis has sliding doors which is nice. I don’t see any Toyota Isis in Kuching.

Sir, I thing you're review is wrong..This is very comfortable recond car...Toyota Wish second generation ZGE20 chasis .Manufactured on 2009 from Japan..I used the X Spec type, disc brake front and rear and Standard Rim 16"..I Used from 2011 until now almost 11 years..No Major problem..Very nice and economy car for my family...many road in malaysia already travel...Peninsular Malaysia Federal road, Genting, Cameron, east-west highway, Gua Musang and Banjaran Crocker at Kimanis Sabah except Sarawak day an night travel..low cost maintenance...most recommended who wan to buy this car for latest facelifts...😊👍👍👍

My ac makes my belt squeak any time I turn a corner. Could WD40 be a solution or should I replace the belt. When the AC is off the car, doesn't squeak. Secondly van I put rim 17 on my wish, I live in kenya and I realized it has a bad ground clearance, had to put heavy duty coil springs. Please advise

If the belt is bad, it will squeak only when starting the car but it goes away shortly. Yes you can consider using 17 inch rims but choose light rims so it wont make the car sluggish. It would be perfect to use Innova at your place but i assume they don’t sell Innova there.

A car that u explain about the fuel consumption its about 21km per liter for 2wheel drive or 4 wheel drive because that cars came with 2 wheel drive n other 4 wheels full time

This is a two front wheel drive. It averages around 12-13km per litre in the city. I have collected data over 5000 km of study to make the assumption.

That 21km per liter you see is not the average. It keeps varying depending on the speed you drive. If you cruising, it can go like 30km/l but if you go slowly through heavy traffic, it can go down 4-5km/l. The figure MrCheang gives is the average consumption. He’s done this over and over to get a consistent result before reporting. He drives mostly in the city.

Hi .. are you using 0w-20 or 5w-30 engine oil? .. I’m using 5w-30 and the fuel consumption quite bad only 11km/l. Plus I found out that using 5w-30 oil the auto eco mode is not working. My is 2016 model.

I use 5w-30 oil. Auto mode seems fine. It depends on where you live, here in Kuching 5w-30 seems most suitable. It’s hot here.

Does your car have paddle shifters, if it does, you push your gear to manual then you can upshift or downshift using the paddle shifters. If your car doesn’t have the paddle shifters, you can only put in gear 1 or 2. My car doesn’t come with paddle shifters.

What makes the Toyota Wish to keep overheating, showing engine check light and engine stops running when accelerating?

If engine is overheated, the computer will turn the engine off automatically to prevent serious damage to the engine. Check your coolant system. And check the radiator fan.

If I bought a 2013 Toyota wish, but I noticed it doesn't have a temperature gauge. Can you tell me where's the temperature gauge on this car?

Many modern cars don’t have temperature gauge anymore. It’s controlled by a computer module. If the engine is overheated, the computer will turn the car off.

I don’t see any Toyota Isis in Kuching but they both come with the same specifications in terms of engine and transmission except the Isis has sliding doors. I assume the Isis is more spacious considering the shape of the car.

Dust shouldn’t come in. Make sure you turn on the air circulation from inside the car not from outside. On the aircond buttons, press the button with the sign: the car with a U-turn arrow inside the car.

Yes, it can but the tyre ratio should be a bit smaller so it can fit nicely. I think 17 inches is best. However, you should only consider light rims, the heavy ones will make the car sluggish.

This 1.8L is extremely reliable. Toyota has no report of engine problems. It’s definitely better than old Mazda.

Wish is a very reliable car. This second generation has extremely good fuel economy. It consumes petrol less than Avanza. It handles well and provided very good driving experience. However, you are a new driver, it’s likely you will knock into things. You should consider a smaller car for now unless you are very confident hahahah. Honestly, I enjoy driving this Wish more than any SUV. My kids also prefer this Wish.

I use fully synthetic oil. It’s expensive but it makes the engine run very efficiently. However this oil is very thin, if your engine is very old, it might leak from the cover gasket which can be replaced.

Yes, can fit 7 adults but the last row is best for kids. A pram with a baby will be counted as one adult.

Hi. I would recommend the second generation. I personally prefer the one with keyless entry. The second generation runs from 2009 to 2017. It costs from 50k - 100k plus.

Yes, you can even put 17 inch rims but make sure you use lighter rims otherwise, it makes the car sluggish.

Alza is definitely a lot cheaper to buy. Alza has 4 speed automatic transmission while this has CVT. Both cars are extremely reliable. Wish feels much nicer to drive. Better fuel economy. I prefer Wish.

Thanks for the comment. Exiga is not sold in Malaysia. I can’t comment on it but this Wish is very common in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore. No major complaints so far. It’s been extremely reliable and very economical on fuel consumption.

Hey, how old is ur wish? i have been dailying my dads wish since 2017..realised recently the shocks almost gone..so even small bump strips can be felt harshly throughout the cabin..currently about 75000km already
