@@storx61 i love cars and i usually DIY what i can since i first had one way back 2004. but i'm not a professional critic. now to answer your question, they sound just like any other good car, doesn't sound bad at all, at least for me :)

I have my eye on the Corolla Cross tbh, and didn't really give the Yaris much of a chance, until I saw this in the metal. I now have a conundrum as to which might be the better buy. When compared to the HRV though, are we talking about the 2nd gen lr 3rd gen? If it's the former with the 1.8 liter NA engine, you won't feel much of a difference. For the 3rd gen, though, sure the turbo must be faster for sure, buut only a proper comparo will suffice.

That's because I was! The Yaris Cross has enough gruff to get myself going. Comparing it to its turbo rivals, sure it doesn't have the same kick in your pants pull, but zipping in and around the testing area and some flooded streets it did just fine. My full review should answer more of our questions as soon as Toyota hands me a week-long tester :-)

Because at that price range or even MUCH cheaper, other competitor with turbo or Electric motor or Hybrid DOES pull harder and this Yaris cross is lagging behind (which is to be expected as the Engine specs is really way behind. Competition is really good considering Toyota and Honda are now giving us their SENSING features which 5 years ago you wouldnt get on sub 1~2m Japanese cars.

I was sort of relieved that we got this model over the euro. It certainly is more spacious and in my opinion looks better!

The White Yaris cross looks clean and fresh but in my opinion the blue with its midnight tones and almost sparkle finish looks quite fetching! - Roy

The non-hybrid loses out the Pioneer sound system.
