I have Question When you lift the iron cover at the beginning, there is black glue. If you re-install the iron piece after finishing the work, will it be fixed and is it not preferable to add black glue again?

Hi did that replacement feel the difference now . One small thing I can feel petrol smell and the petrol cap when opened doesnot give pressure not sure if that is sealed or not Thoughts pls

So there isn't regular kind fuel filter at all? I changed fuelpump for my opel back in day and it the fuel pump had same kind of filter but there was another filter in fuelline bottom of the car. Does toyota get away with just in tank one??

Hi etios same procedure ,I don't have the tool to turn the fuel tank to open it as per your video you day I must use a hammer and screw driver to bang it.

Thank so much for the information. I have issue with my 2015 vitz, I took to mechanic to check on the fuel filter, since then there’s smell of fuel inside the car. I took to another mechanic to check on that and tighten the cap but still there’s fuel smell. I have no idea how to go about fixing that, I will appreciate if you can advise on that.

I would like to know this as well. @ 3:23 you can compare the old with the new (Is that new filter OEM?) I have a high mileage '07 Yaris hatch for my wife to do UberEATS with and the thing is just a nice solid, reliable, car. I'm willing to bet the previous owner never changed the fuel filter in it. I've owned it for a couple years and I haven't changed it either. MPG's should be approaching 40 in this little thing but I'm getting like 25 even on the highway. So now I'm considering changing it to see if the gas mileage improves.

This is part of logbook servicing, no issues with the vehicle at all, the customer is just following the preventive maintenance guidelines set out from Toyota.

Every 100k miles/ 125k miles 160k km or 200k km is a good time to replace or every 10 years.

Just thinking here ... better to stop the contaminants from going through the electric pump in the first place, and with the large surface area of the screen greatly reduces the chance of getting clogged.

1st: Show the ring tool - I thought it was just a homemade tool you had created. 2nd: before removing the cap (ring) point to the position alignment indicators (triangle on tank & 3 ribs on the cap) or if there is only one way the ring can go on back on, mention that. LIKED the mention of (blue) marks for the filter mount into relation to the tank. 3rd: Would have liked seeing the reinstall of the cap (ring) not just mentioning how much pressure was needed to reinstall.

You here the dealerships call these lifetime filters, youre screwed if you break the plastic, it feels like playing russian roulette sometimes

This is part of logbook servicing, the customer is just following the preventive maintenance guidelines set from from Toyota. No lifetime filter exists in truth. That goes for other so called lifetime oils as well (sales gimmick)

How often are those fuel filters meant to be changed,both my aunties kias were never changed by the dealerships, i like to change them atleast every 40,000 country fuel can be alot dirtier.

@Sam S OK just to clarify for anybody who may be getting confused by this. Toyota like all other manufacturers have recommended intervals for certain items within the service schedules. For example a 100,000km service may include platinum spark plugs and be a higher cost service where a 110,000km service may be just an oil and filter change with all the usual checks. This information is accessible to everyone should they want it. Our workshop have all the interval information for 95% of combustion vehicles on Australian roads. A customer will ask how much it is for a "logbook service" and depending on the interval, we quote up and advise what items get replaced to maintain your manufacture warranty. Parts must meet or exceed OE quality and you must not skip services. This allows you to choose an approved repairer to have the service done.

WA same as you, i was just curious , i have read one online manual ages ago for a car by memory it was very high kms it bewildered me,im largely in the remote wheatbelt right through to Kalgoorlie . Aunty marks everything using a UV texter as bolts are never going to be exactly tightened to to the exact same position. Ive worked on cars trucks trains earthmoving equipment but not alot exp on any cars after early 2000's thats when i gave it away. Family and freinds are the only ones i work on now, usually the big jobs to save them thousands and relieve them of the stress. Modern cars man they make you wonder, i want a tesla LOL

When nothing works , a 2 foot pry bar with a 4 pound hammer works perfectly fine. Just buy new retainer ring from toyota before breaking. 10 minutes with my method in and out.

you need to replace the lid aswell, the main fuel filter is in there.

This is a logbook service and items are replaced as per recommended by Toyota, no mention or requirement of anything else replaced in this interval 👌

It’s very upsetting . I had a lean code , replaced MAF sensor , spark plugs , light came back on , replaced o2 sensor , light came on after 8 Miles. They told me they didn’t have a way to check fuel pressure on my 2008 Yaris . Feel like I am just throwing money at parts . They couldn’t (according to them ) find a vacuum leak although they did not do a smoke test on it . So upset as I already spent a lot of money and I’m poor .

I know, i too am sick of paying to replace car parts that didnt need replacing... its cost a fortune. I wish mechanics could say what is wrong with car. Never before other than this yaris have i owned a car that cant be fixed but i need a car.

@@moaddeclerq7768 I am sorry , I must have missed your message somehow from when you first wrote and I know my answer is not relevant anymore probably but I replaced all four fuel injectors with used fuel injectors . It ran OK for a while but eventually other problems cropped up and I got rid of the car a few months back . Did you figure out what was causing your problem (if you had a similar issue ).

Toyota yaris 2011. 54000 ķm oyota yaris 2011. Problème fuite d'essence côté goulotte tout fonctionne bien jauge pompe. Ce que j'ai pas compris : parfois fuite forte comme un jet au démarrage. J arrête le moteur je redémarre rien ne se passe pas de fuite 🙄🙄. J'ai emmené la voiture à la maison toyota, ils n'ont pas trouvé la panne.la solution pour eux tout remplacer jauge, pompe,réservoir . That is not the fuel filter, it is Just a net that prevents solid particles to enter the fuel pump..... 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

That's because the 2014 and above are all, Ford vehicles If you trace the car, you'll see that it was made by Ford. It's not really a Toyota for soldom to Toyota. That's why they are IA's.

That was so nice of Toyota putting the thing under the most hard to fucking access places on the car. But, I'm sure we're all just dumb idiots who don't get why they put it there. Didn't an ex Jaguar engineer give them that idea? I know they think, "well you'll never need to replace it". The one in the video was fucking black! Bulll shit you never need to replace them.
