Toyotaro has grown so much as an artist and continues to improve at a dramatic rate! His Volume cover art are always breathtaking and his newest chapters seem not to be rushed and full of detail and love!

I like young jiji's work more. I just wish he'd experiment with his fight choreography and positions

Really enjoyed the video! Something I think worth considering is the pace at which these artists produce their work. Toyotaro has a very demanding working manga artist schedule and is always working on something. Youngjiji always seems to be working on a drawing or two, while working on his his manga over a long period of time (months to years).

OMG. I remember when DBAF was only like... a fan rumor lol! Wow i had NO idea they developed it this far! I need a video on the history and development of AF... again I recall seeing this as a 13 year old thinking the fan art (which is all it was back then, there were only like one or two pictures drawn up of characters, i think one was ssj5 goku and ssj4 gohan) was drawn immaculately accurate and true to the "real" series style! Wow

I personally love toyotaros work in the super manga. He has definitely developed his own style to drawing the db characters while still respecting toriyamas character designs. He also choreographs fight scenes really well. Young jiji while a lot of people praise for the art style being more original “dragon ball” I feel as if he is restricted by that as well. His art is definitely very nice to look at but I don’t know we all know that super isn’t being drawn by toriyama himself so why look for someone who’s only goal is to completely copy his art style rather than come in with something new.

14:00 pretty much sums up why i don't like ToyoTaro very much, the ways he draws a lot of his character gestures is very unnatural&off-putting. Look at Goku's left arm, its just rigid like a piece of action figure. In the Toriyama Version, you can not only see Goku's left hand reeling back realistically but also see his torso&head slightly titled to convey motion. There's so much MOTION being conveyed via just a still image, in Toyotaro's image, i don't see any motion.

I'd rather have similar panels with good ass drawing than new angles with shitty looking drawing.

10:01 those poses are literally just Toriyama’s Goku vs Cell. I doubt it’s traced, it was either a reference or just a subconscious kinda situation. However I’ve noticed a lot of Jiji’s manga choreography is almost identical to Toriyama’s in terms of art and poses.

I didn't realize there was a part 2. But the problem with Young Jiji's fight being repetitive is IMO a bigger problem than it seems. I think in the previous video I mentioned his DBVS manga. While the characters act and talk like you would expect them to do usually, when they fight, that doesn't seem to be the case. Broli has shown to be dodging in the past, but it was never like he would like Young Jiji portrayed him. It looks like Goku is dodging Evil Goku etc. Broli is a character that fights far more aggressive. Exchanging blows or going to defense doesn't fit his character. Not sure about the new Broly tho. I don't care about him like at all.

I’m not a fan of Toyotaro. One thing good about his work are the dynamic shots. Other than that, I don’t like his style. The way he draws the muscles look weird, anatomy looks wonky. Youngjiji retains the classic style of DBZ, Toriyama like. Jiji’s newer artwork is rounder and I don’t like his stylistic shift. Prefer the sharper, angular look

If you pronounce DB AF, as "Aff" instead of the letters AF.. you should be consistent and pronounce DB GT as "GIT", or "JIT" (then we can split hairs over that one).

Wow. Neither of these guys come close to Toriyama’s detail or sense of paneling and clarity. Like the comparison at the end that showed the cell scene copies done by toyotaro just make it painfully clear how much more work toyotaro put into his characters and drawing.

Honestly I feel like toyotaro is better at fights, creativity, and art style while youngjiji has superior paneling, anatomy, and consistency. Both are good but I personally prefer toyotaro over youngjiji

I’m surprised relics didn’t mention Goku on the Dbs manga vol 5 cover in anatomy, where his shoulder and arm are sticking out way too much then needed. It looks disproportionate when you imagine Goku putting that said arm down, it would be way too long for his body. But honestly that’s nick picking, Toyotaro does have slight issues with body proportions tho. Look at 4:07 to see what I mean. What do you think🤔

This is a late comment but as of recent It's not even a comparison now. Toyotaro has grown even more and has surpass youngjiji in terms of expressive poses.

Most of the time,Toyotaro likes to trace a lot of scenes or parts from the original manga panels He should stop doing that and do his own way😕

Young Jiji is the better artist it stays true to the original Akira Toriyamas art which is what it should be however Toyotaro should do everything except the characters because it suits Akira Toriyamas style Young Jiji can do the Characters and hopefully Akira Toriyama does the Art on the next Dragon Ball🐉🐒

Toyotaro is far more entertaining to view for me, Yes, Youngjiji is much closer to Toriyama’s, but for me, I don’t really care about that, I like Toyotaro’s more versatile and looser style, it’s more exaggerated and more powerful to me, his angles and poses are always fun and interesting, he’s a perfect balance between old and new Toriyama
