Is there going to be an update so that I can change the volume even if no music is playing? For example, I'm watching youtube on my phone and using the car speakers but it won't let me adjust the volume unless music app is playing.

It's an amazing system, but it's coming a model year too late. Not having this system in 2022 models is a delabreaker and im not waiting for another 9+ months with these car delays.

The previous version was better (coming from a 2022 Corolla Hybrid to a 2023 Corolla Hybrid). This version defaults to an ad to subscribe to their navigation. The previous version you could setup the home screen with up to 4 things on the screen at once, so you didn't have to dig through the screens to find things, thus, being more distracting. The best part about this version is it's one less click to turn the display off, and that is how mine is 99% of the time.

When will the toyota sienna get this upgrade? It's making my family pause on purchasing.

I've got thousands of songs in my phone's memory. Can I connect to the sound system with bluetooth and play my phone music wirelessly or do I have to connect my phone with a cord? I use a bluetooth FM transmitter in my current older model car but I'm buying a Corolla very soon and want to get the jump on things like this.

Somehow before 2022, the high end trims of Toyota models has this. For example imagine I had a 2021 RAV4 XLE Premium and this has the new Multimedia that replaces the entune

Sami is correct. The navigation of the media center is terrible. When I want to listen to Serius radio the system keeps trying to play a podcast off my phone. The media screen gets locked and becomes unresponsive in the map loading screen only way to get out of it is turn the radio off and back on. The Serius radio screen shows all your favorite channels not the one your listening too so you can't see what channel it is. I have taken my tundra back to the dealer and no one at the dealership knows how the system works so I have a appointment next week to bring it in so they can troubleshoot the unresponsive screen that comes up. My 2012 tacoma had a way better media system.

Too sad many of the options listed are not available in my Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Limited here in Mexico. It is US-made and it got the latest audio multimedia system however, no Sirius XM, no hotspot and so many other options. Several menus are basically empty because of the lack of functions. 😑

I always getting connections timeout, and if I'm using map or listening to music in my phone it all stop and I have to go to settings and reconnect again, and keep timeout happen over and over, even if I connect with USB, what you think the solution for this issue? Keep in mind, Toyota charge money for the remote start after a year. They didnt say anything about it when I got my 2022 Highlander. So who knows what they gonna control next for more money.

I've been trying to learn how to use the 2023 multimedia system. It's the worst I've ever seen. Let's say you're listening to some thing with Apple CarPlay and now you want to listen to AM or FM radio it's about a nine button presses to get there. And IF you figure out how to do, it make sure you keep good notes. Everything is done with the screen. General Motors and Honda do a much better job. They have discrete buttons that are not part of the screen that allow you to quickly navigate to different audio sources. Before you buy any 2023 Toyota you MUST try the multimedia system and be prepared to buy another brand of car. You will HATE it. People are often drawn to Toyota because it's one of the few car makers that does not have Forced Lighting. Their light switch is a true off switch. This is a great feature, but now they've done something so horrible it might not be worth it.

Toyota, I hope this works. I recently purchased a 2023 Toyota Corolla SE Hybrid. I’m hoping there can be some type of over the air update on the infotainment pertaining to the auto dimming. I’ve tried leaving the setting on auto dimming but it stays on day mode. So when it’s dark out and my headlights are on the display will stay on day mode and it’s too bright. So I’ve turned off the auto dimming feature and kept it on night mode so when I drive at night the display won’t be so bright. I do wish this feature worked because during the day time it stays on night mode and it’s a little harder to see the infotainment system. So I’m writing this hoping you can make an over the air update so the auto dimming feature will work with the infotainment. If my headlights turn on, the auto dimming feature should switch to night mode. And if my headlights are off, it should be on day mode.

This is the worst stereo to use. Changing from apple car play to a radio stn requires swiping, finding Toyota icon, swiping again and then searching thru tiny lettering icons for the radio station. The older head unit with dedicated buttons was far easier and more efficient to use.

I love my new car with the new features. 🤫 I sold my 20 year old Corolla that has 164k miles on it.

Being able to cast my phone screen to this GIGANTIC screen that's half the size of a TV sure would be nice lol. I mean you could only allow it when the car is not in motion just like everything else. It'd be nice if when I'm sitting in my car at work or something I could watch stuff on the much bigger 13" screen my '25 Camry has. Crazy there's no way to mirror or cast even when vehicle is stationary. I get there are stupid people that would watch movies and stuff while driving like total idiots but there's current safety features that would keep that from happening right now.

Anyone know what are the actual dimensions of the screen ( the actual, usable part , visible to you )? I have not been able to locate this info... Is it 8" diagonal ..and then what is the horizontal length and vertically, the width of the screen ? Same for the 10.5 " screen ??

Is there a way to put this software in my new RAV4 2022??

I just bought a 2023 RAV4 and the multimedia system kept rebooting and then screen went blank. Brought it to the dealership and they said they need to order a new screen. Now I found out the screen is back ordered. So now I have a month old car with 500 miles that I bought for $40,000 and I won’t have a radio/multimedia for who knows how long. This is totally unacceptable, Toyota.

I just found out that if you turn the dash lights down one click from full, it'll go to night mode. Will be nice to not have a giant white screen right in my face in the dark

This is the worst infotainment system I have ever had. I own a 2023 Highlander Hybrid Limited and the system does NOT allow voice control to play mp3s off of a usb device. Everything is a subscription streaming service. I have Amazon Music and it will say its playing a song but nothing comes out of the speakers. I live in an area where 5G signals are always 4 to 5 bars and the infotainment system says "connection lost" when I ask it to play a song. I hate this suv. Infotainment system is the worst I have ever had. Do yourselves a favor and purchase something else. Older toyota media/gps systems at least let you use voice control to play a song from usb.
