Your Pixel 6 Pro doesn't support Wifi 7. You can't test speeds of Wifi 7 without a Wifi 7 client like the One Plus 11 5G. Yes Wifi 7 still uses 5 GHz and 6 GHz like 6E but it has Multi Link Operation (MLO) so it can use several bands 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz simultaneously. Your tests are testing it only in 6E mode and therefore do not properly represent the potential of the router. Someone watching this review and seeing only the performance of 6E will be mislead.

Based on my latest research, the NETGEAR Nighthawk Tri-Band WiFi 7 Router (RS700S) and the TP-Link Tri-Band BE9300 WiFi 7 Router Archer BE550, are likely mislabeled or incorrectly advertised as Wi-Fi 7 routers. Considering how big the router is you think they would be able to include the power supply inside the unit instead of having a giant brick. I have the AmpliFi Alien and they did a great job with the design.
@mj1s735
@mj1s735 8 ай бұрын
Good point, but at the same time having a power supply inside the devices would generate even more heat inside the device. 10 G NICs generate a lot of heat. And the computer and associated components needed to run the router also generate heat too.

It's not about heat but interface from power supply
@mj1s735
@mj1s735 7 ай бұрын
@@youtubeview4354 I still think it would be more about the extra heat generated inside the case than interference. I have a 10 PCIe card inside my PC right next to the power supply and close to the GPU and interference is not a problem from either device.
@ShawnLangford
@ShawnLangford 7 ай бұрын
Sorry I don't believe it's heat or interference. My AmpliFi Alien is one of the better Wi-Fi 6 routers on the market and it has an integrated power supply. Prior to that I used Apple routers and they all had integrated power supplies. This isn't the 90's they can shield any kind of interference and components are small enough they don't draw the same heat like they use to. On top of that there are plenty of cooling techniques they can use. This just seems like lazy design given the size.
@mj1s735
@mj1s735 7 ай бұрын
@@ShawnLangford Possible, but most routers do have an external brick instead of an internal power supply. The one you mentioned only has 1 G NICs, there is a very big difference in the heat that a 1 G NIC vs what a 10 G NIC generates. It can be a combination of many things and it might even boil down to it is easy and cheaper to have an external power supply.

I mean you can't test router by using internet speeds, that's just weird. I don't really care what internet speeds you get in where you live :D It seems like you are honestly pretty ignorant about routers. Also about the distance test, only way to do it fairly is in open space without obstructions, but even then it wouldn't really matter since this would be placed in building made of various materials. Overall, review was just useless, maybe do some basic research first before reviewing a product.
